Isn't wood heat great? My wife and I built our house 11 years ago and designed it around our wood cook stove. We have been using wood heat prior to this because we are in the tree industry so have no problems securing enough wood. Cooking abilities and comfort level that wood stoves achieve really h...

I did what Groundpounder suggested. Just got longer screws (2" stainless steel) and used a Sharpie to take the brightness off. I love this setup. The whole setup does add weight to the bow but the balance is perfect. If you have troubles with the STS moving around, a small dab of Shoe Goo will ...

Thanks guys and gal. Some good helpful information as usual. I find this to be one of the more helpful sites I have been on. It probably says alot about down-to-earth people who understand the woods. I do have the groundpounder mount on the Exocet and some of the suggestions here are along the lines...

Carrying a crossbow in the field

For those of you who have to walk a ways to your hunting site with your crossbow, how do you carry it?

Tried an old leather rifle sling and it seemed pretty uncomfortable and awkward. For those of you who successfully use slings, which ones work the best?

Thanks.

Wabi, your setup should work fine. I used a hip quiver for years.

Just got the Exocet and groundpounder and really like the setup. It is heavy but the balance is good.

I tried to post a picture but can't get the Photobucket editing to work and failed miserably.

Bow4, Don't beat yourself up on a decision that has already been made and cannot be changed. You made your choice with the information you had available at the time. Regarding whether it is legal to mercy kill, the answer is no. But sometimes following the letter of the law cannot not address the mo...

Bob1961, I just received my Exocet 200 also. It does not have a thumb hole, that is the Vortex. Mine also has the tab for the swivel. And I have tried my rifle sling on it and it slips right in. It looks plenty strong enough. This is a fantastic bow. Everything is so well thought out; the attention ...

Re: Fiber Optics vs Scopes

For years I have hunted with a compound bow using fiber optic sights. You can't overlook the stalk on a crossbow when you discuss sights. The reason fiber optics with a peep sight on a compound works so well is that you are the stalk, part of the equation. The peep sight in combination with the fro...

FFF: you can pretty much count on a splintered limb
Does that mean that boo strings are NOT made with fast flight?

Thanks for the replies guys. And especially you, Peter, as that is the kind of information I was looking for. I know Excalibur has a fantastic customer service rep, I wasn't really concerned about that. I can understand and accept low percentage failures but when I heard this subject keep popping up...

Lumi-Zone Scope

So what is going on with this reticle shifting business? Is this an ongoing problem? Or a new batch problem? Are there serial number series to watch out for? I was all set to purchase one and am now having second thoughts. I have heard some fairly significant failure rates, about 18%. Have no idea i...
