I thought this short article had some interesting information on reaction time vs arrow speed.

Re: Limb failures
... Who are we to tell manufacturers what arrow weight to use for their baseline numbers? Inconsistent rating systems are often used by sellers to keep consumers from making direct comparisons. Be that as it may, whatever numbers are given, they should at least work without fears of failure from us...

... Minimum weight is 350 grains and I understand that is bare minimum to attain the approximate 420 fps advertised speed... Shooting around 410 grains and now I will be on my 4th set of limbs... The op has stated that he likes speed and that the advertised speed was a determining factor in his pur...

Re: OT / School me on Air Rifles
Good luck with your new air rifle. They are really good for the taking of small critters. One word of caution though, don't be discouraged if accuracy is sub par with your first box of pellets. Not only is there a break-in period, but most air guns will shoot only one or two types of pellets really ...

Re: Best Stock Excal Ever?
I am another one that does not like the thumb-hole stocks. Personally I am very glad that Excalibur has made so many great bows.
My 200lb. Exocet is nothing short of perfection in my eyes.

Re: Saddle Hunting
Hahaha! Sorry, onetimeonly. I just watched your linked video and it covers everything I just said very well.
Just be aware that hip-thrusting can be harder for some people. Don't be afraid of using a foot ascender if that is what you need.

Re: Saddle Hunting
Hopefully I can add something to this thread. I am an arborist and have spent the last 50 years making a living climbing trees, hanging from a rope and harness. If done correctly, it is a good, safe way to get into a tree, offers excellent fall protection and mobility. Once the climbing technique ha...

... Speed DOES make a difference. It makes trajectory less of a factor, it makes target movement less of a factor... Yes, it does. On the other hand, it is good to remind ourselves just what it was that drew us to choose hunting with bows, to begin with. If your priority is clean kills at almost an...

Re: wow what happened while I was gone
It is not just Excalibur. We are currently living in the most consumptive and wasteful period this world has ever experienced.
It no longer matters that "it" works well. It must be new!

Re: Very strange!! Arrow test.
Barometric pressure and humidity also have an effect on how things fly. I honestly can't see it making a difference for most of us, but you are pushing the limits of what is possible, it seems.

Sharp or large changes in weather can bring with them a change air density. This, in turn, can affect flight characteristics of fletching and other components.

Re: CHARGER EXT CRANK
... I don’t think the C2 is obsolete though. It’ll still do the job and its a lot less expensive than the Charger Ext which is going to be about $229. Depends on the bells and whistles you want though. I agree. It is nice that Excalibur has come out with an updated and improved version, but the C2 ...
