You may have it hooked up wrong from the crank on the right side it goes down to the hook on the string on the right side it comes back and around the grouve below the safety then back down to the hook on the left side and back up to the crank. Do you have hooked up this way?

The 60 yard marker is very usable, the speed ring on scopes is a reference point only. Adjust your speed ring down in fps for the 60 yard marker.

Where the string serving is separating is it occurring at both fingers of the latch or only one?
