I believe it depends on area vs. pressure. The more people out and about during the day, the more the deer can be use to sounds (high or low). For us, we parked at the gate and walked the extra mile into our hunting spots. This year we bagged two bucks in a week at less than 30yards where we've seen...

shot my first two deer this year sitting on the ground without any blind or stand. Just made sure there was a tree or fence that is able to support my back and give me an okay rest area without being "too" uncomfortable. i think the ground is better simply due to the fact that that movemen...

I joined both my tenderloins together with butcher twine and made one hell of a roast... delicious with some parsley, salt and pepper.

add in some rosemary too for extra hint of flavor.

but the tenderloins are great fast-fried too with onions and butter ;)

Part of the reason we find trying to utilize ribs, shanks and necks a losing battle may be that our deer are so very small compared to some of the horses y'all hunt! :D :D

The neck is my fav. roast to put together...

Specially on a young one.

This year i took as much meat from them and put them in the sausage bowl.

Process my own deer over here. Was a butcher for three years at a grocery store growing up before i got into deer hunting... All the parts look pretty familiar to beef... It is worth getting a book or two and reading them for any help or questions that come up while processing. The only thing we don...

Where i hunt there's a corn field that is still standing bordering the farm property. Deer have been steadily hitting that location. I filled a recycling box full of cobs and brought them a few fields over to where i've seen rubs and scrapes and tossed them around my apples no where near the corn fi...
