good luck to all...

who are able to get away from the grit and grind of life/work for a little gun hunting next week. Hope it is a safe and memorible hunt for all who partake. im off setting stands with some heaters for my grandfather who is in his 55 hunting year! Cheers !

Is there any new information on Mnr extending the whitetail deer season to january 31 for ontario residents ? if so i better step up and get some snow shoes...

just a tid bit of info....

apparently there was 430 birds taken during that one week in the fall, 60% of those birds were made up of hens. 10,220 apprx birds were taken during last spring.

Just a reminder for Turkey hunters.....

Season doesnt start till monday april 27, apparently when the april 25 date starts on a saturday or a sunday it gets pushed to the following monday. Not a huge loss, get to slam some trout in the mean time.

Whenever the riffle season approaches, i am sure to update my first aid kit. I always carry mine on when we are dogging out farms or even just on my stand. not only is it good in case of a flesh wound / gun wound, it can also save your life in the bush like Survivorman says. :D .

Around. i saw a thread awhile back, and someone had some excalibur decals for $10/ea i think it was. Got a new gun case and beer fridge for the shop, so i need to load em up wtih stickers.

Thanx for the procedure guys, i will definetly be putting those factors to work for me. There is good numbers of deer in the area, so i cant wait to find out the results.


P.S. were might i acquire a ph meter ? would a TSC store have them?

Yes, i have had little sucess using other crops, however its a naturdal run for the deer to use so we had been using a few mineral deposits with great sucess. its just a matter of keeping them constent between, bedding are, watering hole and soon to be feeding area.

Thanx for the info quys. I have reviewed some of qdma's practices and found it very helpful. currently i am trying a product from evolved food plots. they make a great lakes forage that is rated for temps and winter condiotions for my area. the require if a soild test cant be done to use 150lbs of 1...

Bass pro does not carry the caps. i found it much easier to contact george at the bow shop. i grabbed two pairs and he had them delivered in a couple days. # 519-746-8139.
