Re: Is the new forum harder to use?

The main problem with this forum is that every aspect of crossbow use from hunting to equipment technical questions, arrow problems, strings, broadheads, fletching ...... its all lumped together in just one forum "crossbow hunting". Try searching for just one specific type of information o...

I'm sure there are lots of glue that will work good for bonding vane to aluminum or carbon shafts, my choice has been to use Bohning fletch-tite platinum. It has not failed to hold the bond. I dislike the instant crazy glue type of glue because the glue residue is too hard to scrape off carbon shaft...

How to lock the focus ring on Excalibur Lumi-zone scope?

My brother and I were target practicing yesterday, when I took a shot with his xbow I noticed the focus of his Lumi-zone scope was off a lot. I compaired my Lumi-zone scope to his and we noticed that the focus ring on my scope was backed out about a 1/4" from the eye box bell, his was screwed i...

Wind drift tables for the various popular excalibur arrows?

Anyone know if there are wind drift tables available for the popular crossbow arrows?
I see Exclibur has arrow drop tables for various arrow speeds but I was looking for wind drift data too.

It you fletch you bolts/arrows with NAP "Quik Spin STSpeed Hunter 2" vanes the ones with a little kicker rudder molded into the trailing edge of the vane then one degree of off set or helical will work great with broad heads. It's this kicker rudder that generates the faster spin. Here is ...

Spray the vanes and the bow rail (do them separately one at a time) with spray deodorant specifically the kind with powder in it. This will put a light dusting of powder on the vanes and inner rail groove. Shoot the bow and see where the powder is being rubbed off the vane, look for powder being tra...

Rub a little bow string wax on the jig clamp to keep glue from sticking to the clamp, that the traditional method. So what if a little glue is squeezed out onto the shaft, if you use Bohning Platinum (the only glue to use) just use a single edged safety razor blade to trim off the oozed out glue aft...

I would add to what smokepolehall said: I build a make shift plumb bob with 1/4" white braided rope and a heavy weight on the bottom (a 2L pop bottle works good) I hang this plumb bob from the basement celling about 6 yards. out. Make sure the xbow is secure in a cradle and the rail is level wi...

I re served it now I wax the string and serving and wipe jig a loo to the track every 8 - 10 shots or...

Use Eezox!

http://www.eezox.com/index.html

It goes on wet and dries making the steel highly rust resistant and lubricated.

I does smells a bit untill it dries (a few days) so don't put it on and go deer hunting if you worry about sent.

If the coons are climbing up the pole or legs of the feeder?

Insulate the pole/legs then wrap them with electric fence wire and energize the wire with a proper farmer's electric fence rig.

I won't hurt the coons, but it will keep them off.

Compair scope mounting brackets on both xbows. The new one might have been manufactured with the screw holes drilled a little off from where their supposed to be, that would cause a big difference in your point of impact. Also pull out the trigger assembly and make sure there is no bits of manufactu...
