The whety's would fly down and capture bugs that were attracted to the headlights after dark when we drove back to camp. I always slowed down and made sure they got their fill before I arrived. I can remember sitting up in my ladderstand located in an old Hemlock tree and the wind was really blowing and gusting very hard. As I looked around I began to notice all of the blowdowns that were around. All but one was a Hemlock......hmmmm. Next year it was relocated to a big old Oak!

I found some plastic coated carbiners that work really well. I wasn't sure how much they would lift so I brought them home and was able to lift 2 50lb barbell weights. Good enough for me and easy hookup in the dark!

I've used the Gorilla Glue (the dark expanding type) successfully on arrows for me and my friends. It works on Gt's and Eastons equally well. A ltittle goes a long way. I allow to dry overnight and remove any of the glue that might have expanded out around the insert the next day with a razor blade....

Sometimes a higher shot can snap the ribs apart so abrptly that it will literally 'break' a deers back. Sounds like that is the case here, particularly with your heavier arrow setup. You have tons of kinetic energy. Either way congrats.
