bstout, I e-mailed Hawke to find out about the the parallax setting of their crossbow scopes myself. I was just anwsered back by Brad Boner from Hawke who said that he was just informed by his people in Germany that they are set at 50 yds. so any reasonable crossbow shot will be in focus. Brad also ...

Very sensible and correct explanation wabi. It also applies to bolt type and bolt wt., just as it does to ammo components which require personal testing in your individual firearms to find what combination load performs best in each of them. However, it does help when we share what does work best in...

Hi wildwindom. I appreciate the info available through your post on the Hawke scopes and their site. I have been holding off buying optics yet until late April when Pa. makes its final scope ruling decision. I'm now considering Hawkes camo with illuminated circles even though it shows $180 as MSRP. ...

Scott, thanks alot for compiling the broadhead kill data and posting the results as you did. As an 45yr. archer, but new x-bower, I will be experimenting with three different heads this summer. Your post and other forum comments on broadheads have influenced me to try the 3 blade Rage mechanical as ...

DuckHunt, I recently ordered an Excalibur string changer at a local archery shop. It came in early last week and was the new one you were referring to with the black ends. If your dealer is going to order you a set, just tell him to phone and ask if his source has the black end ones before having th...

I agree with the above advice concerning scope ring options. I have used the three brands/models mentioned above to mount scopes on rifles, pistols, shotguns and muzzleloaders and was completely satisfied with all. As, Pheonix_Tom suggested, adding Excalibur's new cheekpiece or your own add-on idea ...

Saxman, I joined the forum family less than a month ago, but I have been impressed reading your posts on various crossbow topics. I am now also impressed to learn of your personal fortitude and perserverence in the face of family tragedies and personal health problems referred to here by those membe...

Thanks bstout. I just removed it as you directed. I see that the whole assembly lifts straight up and out once those two allen bolts are removed. I thought it had to slide-out rearward but since it doesn't, the trigger itself can stay attached to the removable unit. Now, I'll just wait to hear from ...
