homemade xbow cases

Hello all. I once made a xbow case out of 1/2 inch ply for a Barnett. I worked, but was very heavy on its own, not to mention once it was filled with gear. I now own a exomax and have tried to purchase a double rifle case for it, but not even that was possible as the quiver bracket sticking out woul...

Aluminium,???????

I am sorry fellas, but I cant believe what I am reading. Using 2216 on a 200lb xbow! Are you guys serious. I have shot both bows and xbows for 15 years, and used all types of arrows shafts. Wood, plastic, aluminum and carbon. I tell you solomny, once I tried a carbon arrow/bolt, I have not even ente...

Lucky Yanks!

My exomax has cost me approx $1700 AUS, so far. Thats approx ($1275 US), and thats just for the xbox, scope, bolts, and a few other bits. I bought mine here in Australia. Next time I am going to buy one (probably another exomax, as I love them) I will consider flying to the US to pick one up, as it ...

Thank you

Thanks to all the input by my fellow xbow hunters. I feel a little more confused by all the response than before. In Australia it is quite warm most days, with some days in the bush hitting over 40 degress celcius. I do agree with getting the meat cooled asap, and in my limited experience so far, re...

Meat Preparation

Fellow xbow hunters. I dont mean to sound naive, but can anyone tell me how they prepare their kill. I understand the shoot, skin and gut part, but are there any tips on meat preparation or preservation before it is ready to be consumed. Friends of mine have suggested hanging the carcus in a cotton ...

World Crossbow Championships, anyone??

Is anyone interested in participating in the world crossbow championship, due to be held in New Jersey in July, 2007? They occur every 2 years. The last one was in Perth, Western Australia in 2005. Very enjoyable, but only limited sport/hunting xbow shooters. Xbows are not that popular in WA, and ne...

Andrewj - which state r u in?

Im from WA, and the hunting laws are not that bad here. Same goes for SA and NT. I have a exomax, and extremely happy with it, although does have a heavy draw weight. I got mine from Ausbow as well, a bit pricy though. Can get it much cheaper direct from US or Canada.

There is another point to consider

I do agree with waiting a period of time after a shot, however I believe that it depends on the animal and shot placement. I was recently on a kangaroo hunt in which we nailed a few. I was using a exomax, while my mates use 200lb hortons. The roos that i shot dropped within 5 metres, in which case t...

I know that this is an excalibur site, but has anyone seen the new Styker xbow due to be released! Check out the web site. I must admit, that prod looks a little impractical. Reps claim it will retail at around $1600+! I really wonder how long this thing will keep it together. I have been a Barnett ...

I was hunting kangaroo's (yes, im Australian) on the weekend, and i tell you what, if you don't kill it first shoot, don't get too close to it until it i...
