I'm letting my son in law get the first opportunity at the new stand on Saturday.

It rained here yesterday til 12:30. I guess he was getting a little rutty. His tarsal glands stank pretty good, and his neck was starting to swell. I'm going out in the am. I have the next 10 days off for vacation.

I think he put too much stress on himself to shoot a buck. Now it's more like relief to finally get one. He was all smiles when I got to him and the buck last night.

My son-in-law finally got the buck jinx off his back. He went into my trusty ladder stand at 2:00 this afternoon. At 2:40 he calls me that he just shot his first buck. 18 yd shot ,double lung. 50 yd recovery 135 lb 7 point. He was super pumped when I showed up!! I think I found out how to get these ...

My 2 doe tags are done. I use my ground pounder mount for the video camera. I take the quiver off and the camera has the same size groove on the bottom. I use a velcro strap to hold it on. Exomax will be in my hand in the morning. Should be close to 30 in the am. Bucks should be on the move.
