Re: TriggerTech hold down spring

I was able to enlarge the holes so I guess I won"t be needing a new retainer.

Thanks,

TriggerTech hold down spring

I have an Ibex. My arrow hold down spring is attached by 2 slotted screws. According to the TriggerTech web sight I will need to purchase a new hold down spring. Is this correct or can I make the original hold down spring work?

Thanks, Fran

Re: Triggertech's newest offering

Thank you, I missed that. So the pre travel is .9 lbs. I am leaning towards the 2 stage trigger .

Re: Triggertech's newest offering

From Boo:
Keep in mind that the first stage/pre travel swings back and for with just a minor amount of pressure of less than a pound.

For the 175lb Hunter it says that pre travel is .9. Is that .9 inches of pr travel?

Re: Need assistance for first crossbow

Buy the Ibex. Plenty fast enough. Easier to cock. My serving just broke and if I had a compound crossbow I would have had to put hunting on hold. With my Ibex I simply put a new string on. Buy the Ibex.

Re: Starting at 30yds?

Most of my shots are at 30 yards so I sight in at 30 yards using the second crosshair. The first crosshair is very close at 20 yards, the third is very close at 40 yards and for some reason the 4th crosshair is 5" high at 50 yards. As mentioned earlier it is very important to use the correct cr...

Re: Is a crossbow hold sensitive

My Ibex is a little hold sensitive, but nothing like a springer. When shooting off a bench or shooting sticks I always use my left hand to hold the crossbow, trying like you did to get close to an offhand shot. It must be noted that at 30 yards and under no matter how you hold the crossbow, or rest ...

Re: My new rig

That is cool. What is the orange gizmo near the barbed point and how does it work? Is this rig accurate to 10 yards?

Re: Non crossbow scopes

I tried my Leupold 1.5x5 20 mm Heavy Duplex and it worked great, with no parallax issues. However I did switch to a 3x Vortex ( no longer available) which I liked alot more mainly because it was shorter (I did not have to move my head back ) and it has a wonderful low intensity lighted reticule. I p...

Re: Propaganda time :)

Also Excalibur has a quiet safety. I would recommend an Ibex, Phoenix or Vixen II, as they are easier to cock. I have an Ibex and would have been unhappy with any more draw weight. These guys are right about limiting shots to 30 yards and at 30 yards even 300 fps is not needed.

Re: Help please

Any type of "Goop" will work but you need to practice with it on say small pieces of wood so you will understand its goofy characteristics.

Re: Tree Stand Or Ground Blind

I only use ground blinds now. I think they are great as they are more comfortable and you can put a heater in it.

Re: Broadhead knowledge ... 6 pages worth

The information is dated but still probably still relevant for the largest of game like buffalo and elephants. For deer we know any sharp broadhead will pass through with a double lung shot. My experience is that I amost always have to sharpen new broadheads.
