Re: Which Crossbow
Loved my old Vortex and I hunted with it for years. I had to downsize with Micro's due to my physical condition. I don't think there is a practical difference in accuracy at my typical hunting shot distances.

Re: What arrow weight do you prefer?
Around 400 grains for most crossbows but when using some slower crossbows I'll kick the arrow weight up quite a bit for increased penetration.

Micro Super Runt
Yep, posted this on the wrong forum (trading Post) on the 22nd  Since my stroke in November I've been looking for ways to make cocking crossbows more manageable while using the rope cocker. In that effort, my black Micro 335 has shrunk (machined) to 30 inches in total length, 7.5 inch power st...

Re: Back to the BD400
After spending some time with the Bulldog 400, I agree with SEW's initial findings. I personally would like to see the BD configuration as standard for Excal crossbows.

Re: Why lengthen Bull Dog stock???
Please keep the bullpup specs as they are:-) I'm hoping for shorter eye relief crossbow specific scopes.

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results
Back to the Bulldog's semi bullpup design I think it should be the standard configuration going forward, including Micros. Shorter bow, virtually the same speed.

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results
It seems that the constant speed, speed, speed on forums by the speed chasers has been successful in brainwashing lots of folks, including now the average crossbow hunter that previously was more interested in fit, feel, smooth shooting, durability and ease of maintenance. During the last 12 years I'v...

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results
Personally. I'd like to see Excal rate ALL their bows with a 400 grain arrow and be done with it while continuing with 350 grain minimum arrow weight. IMHO, it has been a mistake to chase speed above all else with recurve crossbows. These bows in the 350 fps range, often referred to as the sweet spo...

Re: Comparison of M405 vs BD400 limb attachment
The Bulldog's riser looks like it may weigh less.

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results
Pulled the Flemish string off the Bulldog that shot a 382 grain arrow 361 fps yesterday. I weighed the flemish and factory strings. Not as much difference as I thought. Flemish 110.5 grains - Factory string 98.9 grains - 11.6 grains lighter than the flemish string. I installed the factory string bac...
