Redneck deer hunting tip of the year: If you can swallow air and belch, you don't need a grunt call.  :P :P   Humor noted  ... but you really are onto something here. Save yourselves a little cash. With a little practice, you can (at least I can) out perform a plastic ...

Re: More acorns!

In 19 days I'll "be in the trees" since our season opens September 12th. I've got everything ready to go and pushed into a corner. There isn't much I can do except hurry up and wait. It's a fine & pleasant misery!!! In my best mocking voice... "in 19 days I'll be in the tre...

Nice gun. Great calibur! being that the military shoots .223, ammo is always available and won't break the bank.
Shoots far and very accurate.
I hate to sit here and sell your gun for you, but my .223 is one of my favorite guns. :)

You need to know what it is that you want. There are other good crossbows out there. Everything comes at a price. The simplicity of a recurve means that you have a little wider weapon, but it also means that you can do the work yourself... and for free. If you went to a forum that was hosted by the ...

Where is Wayland,MI?
That's like asking where New York city is. We're the hub of society here. Got lectric lights and indoor plumbin'

Wayland is about half way between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo... about 30 miles east of Lake MI (Holland).

Welcome!

Like you, I went to the pro shops and shot several crossbows. I watched 3 guys who were getting the hard sell on a Ten Point with a crank. The sales man was telling me what a great bow it was. I told him that I wanted to look at the Excaliburs. He asked "why?" and he began telling me about...

As a fellow newby to crossbows, I can tell you that reading through old posts is helpful. Pay attention to the saftey threads. Apparently it's not uncommon for new shooters to forget to load a bolt into the crossbow. Dry fire can damage the bow. Also, don't practice while distracted. Last weekend I ...

I'm always envious of people who love what they do for a living. I was in the office furniture industry for 31 years (mostly assembly lines). After 3 back surgeries, I decided to take a buy out. The Doc told me that if I wanted to enjoy my life as something other than being crippled, I'd better do s...

I have never tried an electronic call. I have tried several blow calls, and was never impressed with them. I forgot my call one day, and when I saw a buck headed away from my stand, I was forced to improvise. I made my tongue wide and made a sheep "Baahhh" the wide tongue makes for a thick...

Poor buck will spend eternity thinking that the doe whooped him.
