Re: fixed broadhead accuracy
X2 on what Tye said. For me, the Slick Trick Mag 125 shoot to the same point as fp's, My setup is Excal Phoenix with 10 Pt carbon arrow (brass insert, not sure of the weight).

Re: Best way to quiet an Excalibur?
I haven't heard a quiet crossbow. Yes some are louder than others. IMHO, don't worry about noise. If a deer is not alert or spooked, it will never know what hit it. For a good conversation about noise call Danny Miller. He is the US certified factory repair for Excal. If you can't find his # do a se...

stringing aid
The plastic sleeve is pretty chewed up. Tried to serve the area that the hooks grab but did not hold up. Has anyone tried just using the cord of the stringing aid to change the string? Will it last after several string changes?

the search for an ideal broadhead is over
Using my Phoenix, I couldn't get several different Bh's to group with fieldpoints. Bought a pack of Slick Trick Mags 1 1/8" (125gr) and they group with Fp's. These Bh's are awesome and I might add, they are reasonably priced. I did quite a bit of searching and couldn't find anything negative ab...

Re: Boltcutter vs Rage vs Wasp or others???
Badapple since you have the Wasp give them a try. If they don't shoot well then try something else. There are lots to choose from, but the key is, put it in the sweet spot.

x2 on what wabi said. BH sharpness and placement are the key. I wouldn't hesitate using my Phoenix on anything in North America.

Please tell me that you don't have to remove the foot stirrup to get it into the T-form semi-soft case. I'm thinking of getting one also.

houser, so far so good. The tech at BCY said that 28 would be good. Around 60 shots with no problems.

Re: flemish strings..
8125 is the same material as D97 just thinner. I use D97 (28 strands). If I were using 8125 I would probably use 34-36 strands. Per BCY, the D97 is forgiving but will stretch some. The 452x and the Brownell equivalent are a little harsher but stretch less.

shooting a Phoenix naked....w/o diss bars
Anyone removed the dissapator bars using the appropriate hardware? What are your results, louder, more vibration? I talked to a reliable source today that said he/she shoots without diss bars or the S5. Any thoughts?

Re: Anyone fletching 2" blazer vanes for their bolts
I prefer the 3" Fusion. IMHO the Blazer may bottom out on some xbows causing erratic flight. If the Blazers fly good then use them. Won't know til you try.

Re: Daltons string wax/conditioner
I think Dalton's is a wonderful product. Boo sent me a sample and I'm sold. It's amazing how it works into the string. I convinced my local dealer to stock Dalton's. He seems impressed with it. This is all I use on any bow string, Longbow, Compound and Crossbow.
