Re: Youth Model Rifle
Raymon, You might wish to consider the Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08. This rifle is light, compact, the recoil of the 7mm-08 is minimal and it is quite capable of harvesting all but the largest and dangerous of North American game. The reasons that I suggest this rifle and this caliber is are two fold...

Re: Ordered a Phoenix
Airborne, I am 67; going on 68; with a total hip replacement and bursitis in one shoulder. I recently up-graded from a 150 lb. Excalibur to a 175 lb. Excalibur. With a rope cocker, I cannot tell the difference in the cocking effort between either crossbow. With a rope cocker, you should not have any...

Re: Lighted knocks
The Burt Coyote Luminock is a fine lighted nock and the price is right -- (1) If they always worked and (2) If you did not have to throw them (your money) away when the battery went down. I have been using the same six Firenocks for four years -- (1) I have never had one that failed to activate and ...

Deer Cooler - Central Missisippi - You Are Welcome
If you hunt in Central Mississippi or East Louisiana and do not have a cooler available to you, you and your hunting companions are more than welcome to bring your deer to my home and hang them in my walk-in cooler for a few days - No charge. I am located in the area of Hwy. 18 and Springridge Road ...

Re: Crossbow Question
You have suggested a very good question. In my opinion, I look for a crossbow that I will be able to use all of my life and without a doubt any Excalibur crossbow will out live me and any Excalibur crossbow will harvest deer, smaller bodied cervids and small game, without a problem. However, as we a...

Re: How to remove inserts???
The next time that your purchase fletched arrows, purchase them without inserts.
If you are planning on using lighted nocks, also purchase them without nocks.
Danny Miller (740-483-2312) makes my arrows for me and he installs whatever inserts I wish and does not install any nocks in my arrows.

Re: The Vixen delema
Strum, Because of the reasons that you have stated above, finding a used Vixen can be problematic. Nothing reasonable could pry my little Vixen out of my hands. Vixens are relatively inexpensive, your best bet might be to purchase a new one and if needed; the stock extender. You will never regret it...

Re: SpitFires?
Weezy, In my experience, Spitfires replicate the performance of field tips. In the past, I have used the Spitfire practice tips and they performed the same as the hunting Spitfires. You will see this notice on the NAP site; you are cautioned against taking high angle shots. With high angle shots, th...

Re: ? on Stock extender on Vixen II
theoldarcher,
With the Stock Extender, you will not be able to easily use the Excalibur Crankaroo.
However, Danny Miller (740-483-2312) can install a TenPoint AccuDraw crank cocking device and then your Vixen will truly meet the needs of the whole family.

Re: ? on Stock extender on Vixen II
theoldarcher, Yes. The current model Excalibur Stock Extender will fit the Vixen II - it was purposefully designed to do so. When the Vixen was redesigned from the Vixen (brown stock) to the Vixen II (camo stock) and the stock was shortened to accommodate those of smaller stature; one of the design ...

Re: To weak, question about cocking my bow
Raymond,
You might wish to consider contacting Danny Miller (740-483-2312) regarding having him install a TenPoint AccuDraw on you bow.
I am of the opinion that you might like this arrangement better.

Re: Sorry Guys, But Another Vixen Logging In....
Laura, This was my second year on this ACF hunt. In my opinion, this hunt (with Ozark Mountain Outfitters) is one of the best values that I have run across in a long time. My first year (2009), it was a three day hunt (HBH, Winter 2010 issue, p.20) and I got three shots in three days. The five of us...

Sorry Guys, But Another Vixen Logging In....
Sorry guys, But another Vixen logging in.... One deer (30 yds.) was taken on the last hunt of the last day of the American Crossbow Federation October deer & turkey hunt in Missouri with Ozark Mountain Outfitters. The Vixen also sent a turkey (35 yds.) home with me. Vixen (brown stock) + Danny M...
