Re: Not A Excal Harvest

Mighty fine looking buck, great job on the hunt. West Virginia holds a lot of deer every time we go thru there we see them all over the road side dead and alive.

Re: Got a Question - More Big Bucks This Year?

A few 10 pointers and a 12 pointer were shot in our area that I am aware of. We seem to have big bucks going thru all the time the problem is getting them into bow range. We also have huge does, same story they stay out of bow range.

Just looking for info, when the main rut is over how do you approach your hunting?
Do you just hunt morning and night ,do you hunt during the day, what works for you?

Re: Deer vocalizations

It's funny you say that because I hear that sound quite often. We hunt woods between soya fields, there is a lot of ponding water there so I assumed there were frogs in the water. I also here cricket like sounds coming from the soya fields maybe its the soya bean cracking out of the pods, don't know ...

Re: Ordered a Phoenix

I have the same set up and we are basically the same age, if you don't have one a rope cocker works great. You will enjoy your crossbow, may your hunts be good ones.

Re: how do you use your grunt and bleat call

What works for me is three grunts and sometimes three grunts and three bleats. How do I know it works, every time I do it get busted from behind my stand. This getting busted problem will soon be rectified.

Re: 11 Acre 8 Pointer

Congratulations on the nice buck, if you seen the size of the woods I hunt you would think Im crazy. Some of the smallest patches of woods hold big deer, the size of the woods doesn't matter its whats around it that does.
