Re: Cold Weather Socks?

I make sure my feet are very clean and then dust them with foot powder then a pair of 100% wool socks. I have my favorite pair I use just for sitting in the deer stand. As a lot of people have stated on here, soon as you feet are damp you "WILL" get cold feet.

Re: Ontario Moose draw?

12 years in a group of 4 in area 41(North Bay, no guaranteed group size) and no one has gotten a tag for cow or bull :x . This year I said sc*w it and did not even apply. I will hunt with my crossbow for my calf. Been a couple of years since I was able to bag a calf. Hopefully this year. I have one ...

Re: transporting my equinox on a 4-wheeler

I as well have use the koplin mounts for 2 years now and have found it does not affect the scope accuracy. After each season I have gone out target shooting and found it was still dead on. I also tried sling my bow and found no comfortably way to carry it. The front mount works great as far as I hav...

Re: Ontario deer & moose questionnaire?

I also filled the form for deer online and was very easy to do. My question as many have asked where are all the moose and deer? I saw one small bull moose ( had no tag) with paddles the size of my hand. Lots of deer tracks but only saw one nice buck day before season closed. I had just climbed into...

Here in North Bay they have a great place called Trans Canada trap Company.

There site can be found here. I know they ship all over Canada. Have your trappers license handy if you are ordering traps.

Dutch Nice to see you involving your child in the art of trapping(Check out my tag line at the bottom of my post). You will have to get her on the next trappers course so she can become your 2nd on the line. My son and I managed to haul our quota of 96 out already but don't expect to make a whole lo...

Heading to Orillia Friday night to hunt turkey on my brothers land with the phoenix. My brother travels from Toronto most weekends up there and he has seen a couple groups of them.

I am hoping to bag my first turkey. I had no luck this spring, all I saw was hens.

While out trapping beaver this weekend my son and I also walked onto a grow op in a swamp. We both found it strange that a couple of trees fell across a trail we use quite often. About 100 plants lining the large swamp. Called the tips line and gave them the coordinates from the GPS. I am sure the f...

My gorilla stand came with a milk bag cutter on a string secured on the left shoulder of the fall arrest. I hope to never have to use it but know it is there if and when the need arises.

awesome. I only wish I could be lucky enough to get a tag for a bull. I hope next year (Year 15) is our groups lucky year. Hard to believe it has been 15 years with out a cow or bull tag?? Unlucky I guess. While watching that video I think I my heart was pumping just as hard as the shooters'. Bob

I want some of what ever you are smokin. Way to funny. As I was reading your post I could not stop laughing and almost wet myself. My wife thought I was having some kind of fit and asked if I was ok.

I cheeped out on my sling. I bought the quick swivels and sling @ Canadian Tire and am happy with it long as I don't have the quiver mounted on the bow. I sling mine over the head most of the time and that cheesy mount that came with the right stuff package was not comfy on the back slung this way. ...

Early morning is my favorite time, but spend the better part of the day in the stand. Last week end I was up at 0 dark thirty (0430hrs) had a quick coffee, filled the thermos and packed my lunch and a couple of granola bars for morning snack. I had a 30 minute 4 wheeler ride and 20 minute stroll to ...
