I just purchased one about a month ago. I've used it a dozen times already and can honestly say it's a little too comfortable to be in. I am big as well (6'3', 225 lbs) and then you add the gear...etc....My only beef with it is being able to keep your peepers open while in it....

What type of Excalibur to buy

Currently looking at purchasing a bow from Excalibur. I will be hunting deer and moose (so far....lol) with it. I was looking at either the Exocet or Exomax. I have no clue what I'm looking for, in regards to bows, arrows, etc. etc. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hah! thanks for all the support. LOL I actually have all the time in the world, seeing as I'm on strike right now (and have been for 4 months!) So hopefully I can fill my tag before the gun season closes this Saturday. I have never taken a deer in my life, but I'm also not expecting any miracles. I ...

Warm weather

Just got back from another morning of beautiful sun and warm temperatures. I've spent the last 3 days in my climber, without seeing a single deer! And these were full days, up in the stand before sunup, until darkess. Today I decided to do some walking, but lots of sign and that's it. Not sure if th...

Deer Calling

When does a person decide to use a doe bleat or a grunt? I have a Primos "The Great Big Can Long Range Estrus Bleats" and a Quaker Boy Brawler and am unsure of when to use each. Up here, we are getting close to the rut, so I would think either call would work.

Deer Scents

Good morning, everyone! Just a question regarding deer scents. This will be only my second season hunting deer (did not fill my buck tag last year, hope to this year!) I have a buck only tag this year, and last year I purchased Tinks Scent Bombs. I can't remember if I put Tinks 69 Doe in estrus or C...

Thanks for all the input. I should be getting my climber next week sometime. When I get it, I will practice using it on 1 of the trees in my yard and post on how well it works. As for the hot water bottle for my urine, my wife laughed and then almost threw up at the mention of it (she thought it was...

Thanks for all the help, peeps. My mind is set on a climber. Like I stated earlier, my biggest concern as a deer hunter without a quad (but I do own a nice Silverado!) is getting away from the other ATVers. I found a few promising spots ( 1 with a nice rubline) and have spotted some nice bucks durin...

Climbing tree stand or fixed position?

Hey y'all (with an attempt at a Southern drawl...lol) I just recently got into deer hunting (2 years ago) and want to purchase a treestand. I don't have a quad, so weight may be a factor in what type of stand I purchase. I like the looks of a climber, as you don't need to carry any additional weight...

Looking for some info on what type of bow to buy.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and had a few (ok, maybe quite a few!) questions. I want to take up bow hunting, but am unsure of what type of bow to buy. Why would someone buy a crossbow instead of a compound? If I were to buy a crossbow, what should I look at for deer/moose hunting? And yes...
