If you are done with it for the season, they recommend you unstring it,but take the dissipator pads off first... you should check Excaliburs site for all the info you need.

I usually take mine off , and the one time I didn't it almost cost me a deer ! The buckle on the sling tapped the snap on my jacket when I was raising the bow and that little bit of noise alerted the deer that was standing 20 yards away. You can probably wrap them with a strip of velcro

Play your cards right and MOST of the time you will win, I have to agree with you about all the gadgets, try looking for the deer that just snorted at you from 20 yards away, what kind of camo is he wearing? It's not the high dollar stuff we wear and you can't see them.
