Just sayin Hi
Hey everyone! Been a quite a while since I've been on. Two little ones sure don't leave much for free time! Lol I hope everyone has had a good season so far. As for me I was lucky enough to drop a new Boo string on a 14pt that dressed 190lbs. My biggest buck (antlerwise) to date. Appologies, I tried...

Re: One big house cat
Definitly a Booner for sure. I've got a 20 pounder at home and that one is way bigger! I've seen them bring home grouse and rabbits (not my ozzy, he's declawed) but not sure about a thunderchicken!

Re: What gun must you have
The gun I would choose would be my Ruger model 96 lever action 44 rem. Mag. Its an awsome gun, for 100 yds or less of course. I've killed at least 15 deer with it and fits me like a glove. Its about 6lbs and I can take it down for cleaning with only one screwdriver. Ammo comes in 50 packs and I have...

Weight Screws?
I was just in the process of building another six laser II's, but on the goldtip website it says you can add weight screws to the 110gr insert has anyone tried this?

Re: Carbon or aluminum?
Welcome! Most all of the excals come with enough fire power to take a moose. After bow hunting moose for years, learning the hard way,one piece of advice I can give you is get some good quality broadheads, preferably fixed blade with 1.25" cut. You have some time so experiment and enjoy!

Just built 6 GT laser II's
I was just playing around with some arrow numbers and found out that the firebolts that I was using (with 100 gr rage 3 blades) had an FOC of only 11%. I wasn't to thrilled about that so I tried the GoldTips with the brass inserts. After assembly, I did the math and I says that with 125's 22%, 100's...

Re: Palm Rest on Apex!
I had no idea that a person could make such a target bow. Kind of wish I hadn't seen it now cause I love to shoot and tinker, looks like it may be hard on the pocket book though? Any thing that keeps the bow in your hand for the whole year would be worth it though. Congrats on your mod.

Anyone use G5 Montec 125s ?
I was just looking through my bow box and found some of these heads. I bought them for my mathews but never got a shot with them. Anyone taken a deer with them? If so what was your arrow configuration?

Re: Body Weight, Antler size?
My appologies to Grizzly Adam for being vague as to my whereabouts. I live in central ontario and we have a mix of terrian here. The lease that I have is 3300 acres, all timber, and is part of a 70,000 acre parcel which is also all timber. That is where I hunt deer, moose and bear. I also hunt a fami...

Body Weight, Antler size?
I was just curious as to the the field dressed weight of some the bucks our friends in the forum shoot. I myself had the good fortune of taking two 8 pointers this year. The first was in gun season (we hunt with dogs) and it was 160lbs with a score of around 100 inches. The second I took with my exo...
