Re: Shed season began today.

When sheds hit the ground here they only last a day or two until all the critters chew them up.

Re: STS substitute?

I think the wood (and it would really have to be a very dense wood) would contribute to sound deadening and not transmit as much sound into the riser as metal but I think the trade off would not be enough to make it feasible as the wood mounts would be taking a hell of a punch with every shot. I am ...

Re: STS substitute?

If you have an older bow I dont think the store bought stoppers will work at least they didnt on my old exocet as the holes didnt line up to allow mounting the machined brackets. After looking at both the STS and the NGSS and playing with them it would be really easy for anyone to make their own. I ...

Re: Is an STS really worth getting?

I ordered the STS and was disappointed with it pretty much for the same reasons mentioned in the post by pydpiper. I think if a product is made for a specific application you shouldnt have to do surgery to it right out of the box to make it work right. I sent it back. I went on the trading post and ...

Re: STS bumper and string placement

Q10 take a look at undertakers setup it is one of the best I have seen. He is doing some neat things with his stoppers and even insulated the mounts from the riser.

Re: Hey Boo!

Thats about five hours to the north of me but the population in the entire state is getting out of hand. Just wait till they start rip...

Re: STS bumper and string placement

I had the same problem with mine and I sent it back. Some members advised me to set the brace height of the string back to accommodate the bumpers and others advised me to cut the rods to get the brace height I wanted. I didnt want to do either of that and I bought a NGSS stopper off the trading pos...

Re: Hey Boo!

It all depends on the size of the pig. We stick pigs here all the time, catch them by the back legs and haul them out of the brush. You can do that with pigs about up to a hundred pounds but bigger then that and you are asking for trouble. You try stickin some three hundred pound boar and he is goin...

Re: Danny Miller's service......

Based on what I have read here about Mr. Miller I called an ordered the Miller quiver mount. After a half hour of conversation about ten other things were added to the order. Where I live there are just no crossbow supplies available at all and having Horizontal Archery a phone call away is great!

I like having the stoppers adjustable that I think the NGSS system does if I have read things right from past posts.

Welcome. Where abouts in Texas are you from? I live in Sonora it is off I-10 south of San Angelo in the west. I am part of the environmental impact group for the gas transmission industry so I spend every day out in the field checking out the gas lines. So I get to see wildlife and lots of it every...

Re: Ground Pounder vs. Miller Mount

That set up is really great undertaker! :!: Some great ideas there. Your set up may have changed my mind about mounting my quiver parallel to the limbs. Did the bowjax make much of a difference? Great tip on using rubber insulation where the stoppers contact the riser. Is there any source for...
