In PA we're only allowed to hunt till noon the first two weeks. This is the first year they're allowing us to hunt till dusk on the last 2 weeks of the season.

I have a Mossberg 835, 20" barrel. Based on some research I added a Rhino .695 and last year I shot my bird out at 40 yards no problem using Hevi-Shot... Deadly!

I hunt from the ground... I sit while waiting, but as soon as I see something, I stand and free hand it. Always like the versatility of being able to move where and when I want / need for shot placement. I feel too restricted sitting or in a stand.

How much meat gets screwed up from shooting a bird with a crossbow? I guess I like the headshot with a shotgun because the meat remains untouched...
