Re: Lighted nocks
Do any of the luminocks require any prep to the end of the nock to prevent string jump (roughing up the ends with sand paper)? I have 3 firenocks on my arrows and last week my string jumped my arrow on the first attempted shot causing a partial dry fire, destroying the string and bending my D-Bars. ...

Re: Iphone 5 Camera Mount
I finally got a chance to test this out since my phone came yesterday. The results are very surprising! There is minimal reverb vibration from the shot. I posted two YouTube videos. First one is without a lighted nock shooting at the cube in the center. Hit dead in the middle. 2nd video is with a li...

Iphone 5 Camera Mount
Waiting on my IPhone 5 to come from Apple sometime this week I've been looking for a way to mount my IPhone to my bow to capture the hunt as it's meant to be. I think I've come up with a pretty decent solution that I'm going to share here. Here in PA archery hunting is a relatively mild season, so t...

Re: Exomax Setup Advice
I have an Exomax that's a few years old now. I'm still using the same string that was put on the bow when I bought it. I'm not fanatical about shooting all the time, so that's why my serving has lasted. I do have a spare string, just in case, so my hunt isn't ruined should something happen. I keep a...

Re: Crossbow Magazine National Pop-Up Challenge
I live about 20 minutes from there. I'm trying to talk my Uncle into registering with me. If so Excal will be represented twice! I own an Exomax and my uncle has the First Gen Axiom!

Re: Who has a garden started?
My crop has been planted too. Unfortunately it has to be under heavy vegitation to keep the ATF at bay and I have to bury the water lines running into the woods to keep others from knowing what it is that I'm harvesting... If you believe that one, I'll sell you a bridge in Tibet

I'll be out again Saturday. I just hope to see something. I had 2 hens and a jake decoy out this past Saturday. Recommend for this sat or just go with 2 hens?

Re: PA Hunters - Good Luck!
In PA we're only allowed to hunt till noon the first two weeks. This is the first year they're allowing us to hunt till dusk on the last 2 weeks of the season.

Re: PA Hunters - Good Luck!
Well, unfortunately for me the season is over. Went out before light and could hear them gobbling first light about 200 yards below me on the creek bottom (posted land). Because of the early spring they're already all henned up. They gobbled til 8am and then not a peep. I didn't even see a turkey, h...

Re: Shot my new turkey choke
I have a Mossberg 835, 20" barrel. Based on some research I added a Rhino .695 and last year I shot my bird out at 40 yards no problem using Hevi-Shot... Deadly!

Re: Hunting Shooting Position
I hunt from the ground... I sit while waiting, but as soon as I see something, I stand and free hand it. Always like the versatility of being able to move where and when I want / need for shot placement. I feel too restricted sitting or in a stand.

How much meat gets screwed up from shooting a bird with a crossbow? I guess I like the headshot with a shotgun because the meat remains untouched...

Re: Turkey gear up what are you using??
Mossberg 835 Uti-Mag Turkey w/ Rhino Choke shooting Hevi-Shot Magnum 3 1/2 shells! Shot my bird out to 40 yards last year. I use the "Laminated Enticer" slate from Enticer Turkey Calls. I also have a Primos push call, and a box call but not sure who it's made by at the moment. Decoys I'll ...
