I have been out a lot this year and have seen little sign of any rut activity up here..but the weather is getting a little colder now so i am hoping activity will pick up...the rut on during the rifle season will be a nice change...I hope it happens...put a nice doe down last night to fill my Bow on...

thanks everyone ..though we don't have a coyote issue up here...maybe it is our scent they are picking up ..late august to mid september we were feeding steadily, and we are not in an isolated area...Maybe I just stink...

Here's the question ! I have had plenty of action in an area of an old creekbed .Opening night my buddy connected on a doe..She dropped and was cleaned well off the trail we made ( also the trail that the deer have been using since we made it ) we dragged the deer down the trail to the truck...Ever ...

This is the closet I have seen up here..I have yet to see him while i've been hunting ..but it was nice to get him on the trail cam...

That happens more than most people know..A lady from the South River , Sundridge area had a moose go through her car...It's head was resting on her trunk she was lucky only a broken arm.

If you don't want to get the whole bait barrel thing going ..I have friends who use a honey burn to bring in bears with decent success..fill a dog food can half full of honey and put it on a small single burner stove and let it roll away..I use a propane torch and heat it up while in my stand , then...

glad to hear all is well..I am in nursing in a long care facility in my home town..and have seen people drop dead from over excitement ...I suggest you only hunt fawns this year and give your heart a rest LOL.. give your hunting buddies a chance to bag a buck

Here in WMU 47 we have an additional doe tag (archery only) I will be selective and wait for a bigger doe..the more meat in the freezer the better..the more venison the less beef I need to buy..When the doe tag is filled then I will put my game face on and work for a nice buck with good headgear..I ...

Sorry can't help hank...like lakelover mentioned watch out for the big Grizz. My 15 year old son and his step father put a goat down 2 weeks ago in the Caribous. They humped out the head and hide and when they got back to the carcass a Grizz had laid claim to it..She was not giving it up

A buddy of mine sent me this...Apparently it was taken up in Chapleau Ont. I could see this happening to me..one of my tree stands is in a tree that shows signs a bear has been climbing it

To each their own..I personally won't shoot a doe with fawns..nor would I want to take a young fawn either...fortunately where I hunt the pickings are pretty good and you can afford to be a little more selective.
