Re: Glue line, how to

Hey all. I promised a follow up and have been too busy to get on here in a while. Put together the last of my new arrows last week. Had 4 made for deer season, but figured I should do the rest of the shafts up to test the syringe method and have some spare arrows as backup. Anyhow, the plunger in th...

Re: Truck Liners

Rhino softer. it has a bit of 'grip" and will snag a shovel tip unloading gravel. With Line-X , the shovel will glance off it. More like a molded drop in bedliner. It doesn't have the sticky rubbery texture that some like Rhino for. Personally, if I drop a crate on the tail and want to push it ...

Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators.
See if he can hunt as well as he plays hockey, and find out how he got tangled up with that PETA girl.

Re: O/T Hunting Boots???

That's your first problem right there. Cotton socks have no business in a hunting boot. A wicking liner and a wool sock will keep your feet warmer and drier than anything else. Some people swear by the new all in one technical socks, but I wear a polypropylene wicking liner sock (about $5 a pair) wi...

Re: QueenBee v. Pink Vixen

you might want to let that pressure off. clean your thumbnail with rubbing alcohol and clean the smallest drill bit you've got with alcohol, or heat it with a propane torch to sterilize it. Just spin the bit back and forth between your thumb and fingers, back and forth. You don't need much pressure....

Re: Pellet Guns

Hard to go wrong with the Crosman 2240. Keep in mind, like a heavier arrow, a .22 cal pellet at max velocity has more KE than a lighter .177 There are lots of mods on the net for the 2240, for power and accuracy. The bone stock gun is advertised as 490FPS, close to the legal limit. The 6" barre...

Re: Glue line, how to

Agreed. I tried the Goat Tuff first, and found it way more messy than the Gorilla brand. I've been thinking about a better applicator too. I may try the dots every 1/2" method next as well. I've been thinking of trying these, as an applicator only. use it to suck some glue from the bottle, appl...

Re: Chrono speeds for my Vortex

I'm a tinkerer, but I'm also cheap, so I read lots of posts here and did lots of chatting back and forth with Awshucks. It didn't take much convincing for me to not bother wasting money minimizing the weight of my arrows, at the loss of FOC. I built for a ~400gr arrow with lots of FOC. GT Laser II s...

Re: Cost of tags

depends on the animal, the population, and many other things. where I'm from, you apply to a lottery for a moose tag, works your way up to Pool 1 (you get closer each year you apply and don't get a tag) then eventually after a couple years in pool 1, you get a tag. Application costs something like $...

Re: Cost of tags

42.78 is now the cost for all tags. You got your first one for $39.75 prior to the new tax. If you bought your first tag now it would be 42.78 as well. Don't forget you need your Outdoors Card as well, $9 and good for 3 years. What is the price of a license to hunt deer in your province or state. In...

When my wife was a kid, her mother would smoke in the car. She'd beg her mom to not smoke or roll down the windows, but never got the point across, untill she started vomitting all over the car every time her mother would light up. LOL    my Mom bless her soul smoked all her life and ...

Arizona EZ Fletch

For those of you folks using an Arizona EZ Fletch... Seems the fletcher is designed to snap a nock in place in the base before use. With xbow arrows, using only a flat nock insert, do you just rest the back of the arrow shaft in the base of the fletcher? Does this affect how far up the shaft you pla...
