Re: Serving for S5 use

Can anyone point me to some links of what I will need for serving, what string to use and what tool is best? I don't do Paypal so I would like to find a shop on line. Or someone trusted I can send a check for the tools and thread. Just need to know what to get for the basic start up for serving. Bee...

Re: S5 setup with ground pounder

You sell just the posts and washers? No need for another full mount.
If so PM or email me info on them please.

Serving for S5 use

DO you need to have the serving cover the contact points were the S5 hits the string? I just picked up the S5 system, have 5 strings, all are stock from Excal ranging from new to a few hundred shots. Only one is FFF. Shooting an Exomax. No one local will reserve them so I was thinking that I may nee...

Re: how many twist is to many

how many twists is XXX?? if its roman numerals that would be 30   Sorry, needed to go count. Maybe 40 twists in it or so if I counted correctly. As it set, it is about on the low brace line, so I would need to twist more to get the S5 to fit. It was a new Excal string. Shot it 5 times...

Re: S5 setup with ground pounder

OK I found the longer bolts, I think they came with the ground pounder.
I did not have the washers that are needed to fit the tube to the S5. The top of the S5 is rounded and the tubes flat.
Can they be had at a local hardware store or someplace. Anyone Know?
Thanks.

S5 setup with ground pounder

Anyone have any pointers on setting up the S5 on a max with the groundpounder mount on it. Does the S5 still mount on top? and then the ground pounder on top of that? Just got the S5 in and started looking at it. Any thoughts or pictures of that setup? What is the best clearance to have between the ...

Re: how many twist is to many

I have a FFF and it has XXX twists and still getting longer.
Don't know what to do as I plan to add the STS/ S5 what ever they call it.
Not sure I can get it short enough with that string to keep it off the rubber bumpers.

Scope/no scope

I will start by saying that Crossbows are like drugs, they cost and when you start there is no putting them down..... :D So I'm shooting a Max with a scope on it now, got to thinking about another bow to play with. This bow is great, almost think just get another but leaning to something a little di...

Re: flemish string

And talking about that string, how much wax you all use and do you need to wax the full string loops and all?

I just started shooting a flemish string. When I waxed it, it would turn my hands black like the color was bleeding out. That normal?

Thanks.

Re: Brass Insert Wieght

Were do you find the brass ends? I have checked several bow shops and no one knows what I'm talking about, they always think I'm talking about something else.... I would just like to get 6-8 and try them. Going to 125 gr heads this year also to see what that will do.

Re: Scope rings

I think they in most cases would be fine but mine did not last, in the install the screws just strip out. I know that was a problem and not that common but it happened and could have on any. I just like steel or the newer Tac ta cool oversized rings. They are still light and work great, little bette...

Re: How to retrieve deer from river!

If you do not want to get wet, go to a fishing store and get a grapel, it is a weighted hook.

Tie to some cord and throw it over past the deer and slowley pull it in. It will hook the deer and you can just pull it over to land.

Re: Skinning deer

I built a skinning rack and pull the hides off from the rear legs, before that I hung the head and did it that way. Head up was real easy and fast as you just make a cut and the guts fall out. Its clean and you don't need to fish out the guts or heart from inside the ribs. It all just falls out and ...
