Re: Christmas Idea
Guess this is done I just saw this post when it hit the top. For the record, I liked your idea about sponsoring a family. But I do think it would be hard to decide on a community and a family. Then of course someone would get upset because we didn't choose their community or family.... For those of...

Re: No bow hunting
Bows are never shut down in Ontario. We just have to wear orange in rifle and black powder weeks. That's the way it is here. We can hunt with them Oct 1 through Jan 15. We can use them in Primitive and Gun season, just have to wear Orange. Heck, we can even take a bow with use along with a Primitiv...

Re: First crossbow deer... couldn't find her.
Putting a crossbow arrow through a deer is just like putting a vertical arrow through a deer . . .same sound, same issues, same tracking . . .it's pretty much the same thing. Crazy things happen, like using the wrong scope aim point(chevron). Hitting a twig or something. I would go back out and get...

Re: Discuss......
I had nearly the same experience on the 2nd Doe I shot this year. Shot her about the same spot, 15 feet up, 22 yards out. Through the leg and into the heart and out the other side. She only ran about 100 yards, but it was thick and I couldn't find any blood. I looked all over for nearly an hour and ...

Wow, glad you're okay!
The truly sad thing is that if that had been something like a 1975 Chevy pickup or a Delta 88, there'd probably only be a few scuff marks on the vehicle!

You got a night vision scope on that Excal?
Hope you get a crack at him during the day! He's certainly a keeper!

Re: Piece of my Excalibur equiptment I hate the most.
I knew before I bought my Axiom that I did not want the quiver on it. Whether the quiver is mounted below or above, I thought it was the most awkward looking contraption that I had seen. I can imagine all kinds of horrors having a quiver mounted to a crossbow. It would be one heckuva limb catcher wh...

Re: For all the ground huters, what's your secrect?
I don't hunt from the ground a whole lot, but when I do, I approach it just as if I was going to get up in a tree. I watch the wind. If the wind isn't right, I don't hunt there or I change to another location where the wind is favorable. I also make my blinds from vegetation on hand. Don't go overbo...

Smoked A 9 Pointer..
Okay, so I didn't take 'em with a Crossbow. But I think I got a glimpse of him during bow season...does that count? Do you ever get a "hunch" that a spot will pay off? I've had a hunch that this one spot where I hunt would produce a buck. Wasn't seeing no Bucks on the Food Plots, so...

Re: Is flemish string & 100 gr mech. problem for axiom scope
I have an original Axiom and Axiom scope plus Flemish Fast Flight String and at one time shot 100 grn Slick Tricks, 2" Blazers with GT II's. My scope was on out to 50 yards. I don't think the Xacts will give you any problem.

Re: I need honest answers
I'd say HELL YES on hunting with Uncle Ted, just not sure I'd trade OHIO for TEXAS!!! I lived outside of Houston for ten years and moved back home to OKLAHOMA about 3 years ago. There were things I liked about the state and things I didn't, but the Pro's don't outweigh the Con's enough for me to mov...
