Re: faulty cocking aid
Hi Schrona1, As others have stated, it would be great to see a picture of your rope cocker so we could help further. I was thinking about this thread when I cocked and uncocked my bow this afternoon and I noticed that it's actually the thickness of my rope that's keeping the brass rollers off my rai...

Since it has been a very long time since I was in School (actually learning   ), I will not try to give you the math to prove the point. It is like a triangle, where one side (side opposite the 90* angle) is longer then the others. But it is really not a problem. You will not have a direc...

Re: How Long Before the Limbs Weaken?
I was thinking back to this story I read on the site a while back: Re: Decock every 2 hours? by bstout » Sun Mar 21, 2010 7:17 pm Sometime ago there was a post about someone leaving their Excalibur Vixen cocked and stored in a closet for about 6 months by accident. I remember them saying how bad the...

Re: Cocking Rope
Hey Hooked, Inconsistent arrow flight can be caused by deviations in the arrow, check to make sure they're straight. Also, if you look from the stirup down the rail, at the stirup end of the bow you will notice some plastic shims between the riser and the limbs. These plastic shims aren't always tri...

Re: Axiom
I've had people say using a crossbow is cheating,I say its no more cheating than using compound bow -vs- a long bow or a rifle -vs- a shotgun, its just another weapon. Good luck. I don't understand people who say this. Is it cheating to drive a car instead of walk? How about fly overseas instead of ...

You lucky southerners! We have until Oct. 1 here in Ontario. Go figure, the best bows in the world are made right in our backyard but we have to wait the longest to use them

Hi Boo,
Thanks for your reply. I know the brace height was high so that means the string loop was too big. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Lumi noks
Hi Shootnbeer,
It's been a while since I browsed this forum extensively but as of this past winter I thought that luminocs didn't fit bolts properly... They needed a little rejigging. Maybe there's a product that fits properly now.
Regards,

Breaking in a Flemish String
Hi Folks, The purpose of this posting is twofold, first a question and then, perhaps, a word of caution. I will preface the question and note of caution with a quick explanation of what I did to "break in" a Flemish string I bought. Yesterday I installed a new Excalibur Flemish String that...

String Question
Will the string that comes stock with a magtip limb bow be safe to use on a carved tip limb model. The reason I ask is that I always use the Flemish string on my bow and have since I bought it and my friend with a carved tip limb model needs a new string. It's no use to me now, so I'll give it to hi...

Re: Turkey Box Call
Hi all, I've posted a picture of the call that Pinpoint and I discussed. It is made of cherrywood and the striker is a walnut core with cherrywood stripes on either side. The total size of the resonator is approximately 1.5" x 6". With the handle, the total length is 9". Still not tot...
