New optics. New learning lesson.
My 2005 Excalibur Vari-Zone scope that came with my then new to me Phoenix crossbow finally locked up after 13 years of faithful service, and too many to list harvested deer. I did some research and purchased the Nikon Bolt XR 3x32 BDC 60 crossbow scope. Yesterday I went to mount it and guess what? ...

Re: Excalibur accessories/ Bad trend
I liked the comment about Excalibur's lifetime warranty. My Phoenix is 7yrs old and still looks new. Use it every year for 4 months of bow hunting with no problems what so ever. I'm not much of a compound crossbow fan. They look over engineered and complicated. I'd like to see the average hunter cha...

1st doe down: S.E. Ohio
Finally made it out yesterday for Ohio bow season. Using a 7yr old Phoenix w/Excalibur Boltcutter broadheads, took my first doe of season. 25yd clean shot with about a 40yd track afterwards. Saw total of 6 deer, 2 bucks and 4 doe. A monster 10pt+ (dark/early morning) and medium 6pt. Lets hope the ho...

Re: Axiom advice
Last week my crossbow hunting partner purchased the Excalibur Axiom (I've owned a Phoenix since 2006). It came as a package deal for around $530 which included: complete crossbow w/scope, quiver, cocking device, 4 bolts and 4 150gr field points. We were shooting out to 40yds and it was dead nuts on!...

Axiom SMF question
After letting my crossbow hunting buddy shoot and qualify using my Phoenix every year (for the last 6 years) for a In-City-Hunting permit requirement, he finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Axiom SMF yesterday. Originally he wanted the Phoenix, but liked the Axiom SMF package offering. I also...

Re: "Rare white deer sighting in Ontario"
Seeing Albino deer is so neat. Late 80's in southern Ohio my hunting group of friends would see "Snow", a doe on the private property we hunted. Locals wanted her stuffed, property owner said she was off limits to our hunting group. Wish I would of taken pictures....

Re: unwelcome guest
The coyotes are plentiful in Washington County (S.E. Ohio) this year also. Looking forward to popping one myself.

Re: Wisconsin does it again
I concur that Wisconsin has a very strong and tight bow hunters coalition of lobbyists. I lived in the dairy state from 1987-94.

Glad to hear they found the turds. Now some will understand why I CCW while bow hunting. It's legal in Ohio.
