Re: First Crossbow - choosing between Axiom & Equinox

I have a equinox and I got a axiom for my son.We both have got bucks with them.He got a nice 8-point with his axiom and I've shot it and it very accurate with a better trigger feel.My equinox feels better to me with the thumbhole stock and the reach to the safety has never been a factor to me,I've g...

Re: hard to make a good shoot at 50 yards

Try rage 125 2 blade, comes with practice head. They fly better than anything I've tried and really put em down fast and leave massive blood trail when hit right.

Re: Borther-in-law finally admits.........

I got a excalbur last year and got one for my son this year and we both like them a lot.My Mathews compound hasn't even been shot this year.

equinox put buck down within 60 yards.

Finally had a buck come close enough to shoot this year,15 yards and rage 2 blade really put the hurt on him.Only went 60 yards and a blood trail that was unbelievable. My 3rd buck in 2 years with a excalibur, really liking crosbow hunting.

Re: Arrows & BH's

I shot some shuttle T's today and they didn't shoot near as well as rage 2 blade.Boltcutters shoot good but don't make big hole.Wish I hadn't wasted money on the shuttle T's.Think I'm going to stick with rage,2 inch groups at 40 yards.

Re: Hunting trip ruined because of shattered limb...

your experience has probably helped quite a few learn not to let their bows get hot in any way.I'm going to make sure of that with mine.I store mine in a cool dry room at around 65 degrees and will never let it get close to a heater.Glad to hear you got new limbs, bet you'll have much better luck fro...

Re: Are you serious?

A lot of the wounded animals are because of long shots and not waiting for a good angle.I limit my shots to 40 yards and under.Animals cam move too far to place a good shot beyond that distance with any bow, compound or croossbow.Better to pass on a risky shot than wounding an animal.

Re: Down Range Energy???

My sons 175 lb axiom shot a bolt through a 8-point deer this year just as easy as my 225 lb equinox shot through 2 bucks last year.

91 percent rubbing alcahol will remove it,not good to let dust and crud get on string serving I've read.

Re: Custom Triggers from Boo

My equinox doesn't have the great trigger my sons axiom has so I took the trigger out of it and polished the claws and spayed a little CLP in the internals. The trigger rocks up towards the rear and has a lot of creep in it but it shoots 2 inch groups at 40 yards sitting leaning against a tree with r...

axiom trigger better than equinox?

Does a 175 pound bow give a lighter trigger,my equinox seems to have more creep and heavier pull than my sons axiom. My sons axiom has a very good trigger.I like my equinox but the more I shoot his axiom I'm beginning to wish I got a 175 or 200 pound bow.My equinox doesn't seem to shoot any flatter u...

Re: Tracking

One thing that helps a lot is to wait for a quartering away shot.It works much better for getting into the lung heart area.If you are a little left or right you still get into the vitals, with a broadside shot a little bit back too far off the shoulder you miss the lungs and the deer can go quite a d...
