Re: Suppressor 400 speed

I'm 100% in the same boat. But I feel going heavier on the arrow and string will protect far more than the SDS kit ever would That was always my thoughts with vertical bows. I'd rather use a heavier arrow setup with it's increased energy to quieten my bow than a lot of things stuck on my limbs and ...

It isn't available yet.
I’ve been seeing them listed for sale, so at least some places have them already. I’m just waiting on user reports

Suppressor 400 speed

Has anyone chronographed the Suppressor 400 with a 400 grain or heavier arrow?

I'm sure most you speak of are made in china.....reflects the price.
Actually most I’m speaking of are just about all the major quality crossbow companies. Most not made in China as far as I know.

Re: Crossbow prices

I'm an Excalibur fan and have owned several in the past, but can't really see why they're priced as high or higher than comparable performance compound crossbows.

Re: Hanging a deer

I clicked on this post because I thought it was about capital punishment for animals.

I've hung them both ways, but it always seemed head up was more natural for me.

Re: Favorite Excal Model/s

My favorite model is the next one I'm going to buy :) I tend to keep them a year then sell and buy something else. My Vortex was my favorite until I got my Matrix 355, now it's for sale and I'm eyeing the 405.....

Re: How Much Speed Is Really Needed

For me faster is better, but with faster you often get more noise and more wear to the equipment. My Matrix 355 is fast enough for me.....at least for the time being :)

Re: 2016 Models - Not impressed.

[sarcasm] Good thing they have only been in business for 32+ years... any less and I would think they didn't know what they were doing. {/sarcasm] As Tomcat wrote though, it's not the same people in charge anymore. 32+ years doesn't always mean a whole lot when the ownership/management chang...

Re: Lighted Nocks or Not?

I'd think that unless you put it on all your arrows, your practice arrows might shoot to a different point of aim with the FOC and overall weight being different.

Re: String Silencers

Depending on how long your whiskers are, you'll lose 6 to 8 ft/sec with whiskers. Heavier arrows lower noise as well at a higher cost of speed. If I'm going to lose speed, I'd rather do by the heavier arrow method where I'll at least gain some arrow weight to help with kinetic energy versus string ...

Re: BEST MECHANICAL BROADHEADS

I used the older model 100 grain Rocket Steelhead. Not that I feel they are the best, or even better than any other head, but I have a truckload of them and they seem to fly good. I think a lot of broadhead magic is marketing to get us to keep buying new and "improved" broadheads in search of the ma...

He looks just like the jerk that tore up my corn feeder here in WV. He must be part of a traveling ring.

Re: Leupold on Micro?

I use a Leupold on my 355, but I don't worry about "top of post", "bottom of post", etc. I just zero dead on at 30 yards, then hold high or low as needed. 40 yards would be a long shot for me in the woods.
