Re: New String Shock and Sound Suppression System

Limbsaver sent me more free replacements. I shot the bow at 30 yds. and nailed the bulleye. Put the limbsavers on all the way out near the end of the limbs. Shot the bullseye again. Vortex with Dynaflight Flemish string. I don't know why I have different results but this is the second time I have pe...

unstringing the excalibur (Don't Forget!)

I have strung and unstrung my bow many times. I was taking the bow down for winter storage today and forgot to put a nice padded leather glove on. This is something I have done since day one. I did not allow a dry fire, but the pads on the face of my left hand are sore as heck!!! I wear 2 gloves whe...

Re: New String Shock and Sound Suppression System

I am ready for the S5 string stop. I definatly won't be adding anymore Limbsavers. They won't stay on my Vortex. Its a shame becase they did work and they resulted in no bolt drop at 30 yards. But boy when they come off, you need safty goggles on. I also wrote in on the forum that if you fire your c...

Re: Lost Limbsaver can cost you the shot!

I dont use the string silencers. I know they cost you bolt speed. I have only been using the rubber dampeners that stick to the limbs. I saw them being used by Uncle Ted on TV. I do think I notice a difference in vibration and noise.Shooting at 40 yds at the backyard target there is no drop in the b...

Lost Limbsaver can cost you the shot!

 My son happened to notice I had lost another Limbsaver off my Vortex Crossbow. I had lost one earlier in the season when it almost took my eye out. It flew off during a practice shot in the back yard.I called Limbsaver and they told me that the "High Powered " Crossbows were giving ...

Re: Bow String Length vs. performance

...and if you are using Limb Savers on the inside of your limbs, don't untwist it so far that it is close the mark closest to the riser or you run the risk of it knocking one or both Limb Savers off  ...and one could come back and hit you in the eye...and that hurts...real bad...stings like ...

Bow String Length vs. performance

I know the string is suppose to be positoned between the 2 marks on the top of the bow when at rest. My question is: Does the bow have the fastest bolt speed if it is at the mark closest to the trigger? In otherwords, when the string is a little shorter. I bought the Flemish string which had a much ...

First Hunt with my Excalibur

I bought my Excalibur in May and have been practicing in the back yard. I have gotten very comfotable stringing/unstringing, cocking and uncocking, shooting at different distances etc. over the last couple of months. I bought a rangefinder and played around with that from up in my stands at the hunt...
