Re: Treestands verses Groundblind

Treestand is my favorite but many times here in Alabama a blind becomes advantageous because there is nothing nearby to climb. I have about 75,000 acers here in my area of Alabama that I can bow hunt. The deer seem to be almost nomadic in their process of following food. I practice hit and run. I th...

If you are shooting with a varizone. You can use that to a degree as a range finder. If you lay the crosshairs along the deers back, how far down the bottom of his chest is will give you a pretty close range. Try it on a full size deer target. Lasers are tough in the woods to range a live animal. To...

Re: broadhead/bolt combo to stay away from..

One thing I have noticed is the more you shoot the same broadhead the worse they fly. Even the slightest bend in a blade from slamming a target can throw it a little. I have tried several and I am currently shooting the Muzzy 125 3 blade with a firebolt behind them. Brand new they will hold a 3 inch...

Re: Grand Slam Supreme Chains

Tractor supply wants 19.95 for a 10' section. Can I do it with one piece or will I need two. The stand is over at the camp or I would go measure it. ( LOLO... I know everyone was wondering why doesn't he just measure it). I can get them at a sporting goods store here for 44.00 or API wants 39.00 and...

Re: Grand Slam Supreme Chains

Secret, That looks really good. I am thinking about replacing mine because of their age. At leas 12 years. I have never realy worried about them breaking. While climbing I run the strap from my harness through the top section and attach to the bottom section. I but my harness on as soon as I step in...

Grand Slam Supreme Chains

I have had the same set of chains on my Grand Slam Supreme since buying the stand in 97. Have replaced with heat shrink couple of times and now have 5/8 " vinyl covering. Chainstill seems fine. I can bounce up and down and no issues. I want some opinions on whether I should break down and spend...

Re: Severd a couple strands...

I am new to crossbows due to a RECENT handicap but have Bow hunted for 40 years and shot competively for 20 of those years. When a bowstring is made it is a single wrap for a given number of loops. Then served at the endS and center served. A single stand sevevered and you have comromised the integr...
