Re: The best things in life...

Great job on the doe, and a really good message in your post. I know no one on this forum personally, but there is no doubt that this is a long distance gathering place of some of the best people. Geographically separated, but very like minded and all with a common bond. BTW......Semper Fidelis brot...

Re: Question? Elevation or No.

Thank you for the response fellas. I appreciate it. I hunt from ground most of time with the rifle, but wondered about doing it with crossbow. Now I feel confident to do so knowing alot of you guys hunt that way. Thanks!

Question? Elevation or No.

We all know that the most common position to hunt deer from with the crossbow is from an elevated position (tree stand of some sort). So I don't want to get in any deep discussion about it. BUT...how many of you do hunt deer with your crossbow from ground level. Not a shooting house or blind.....but...

Re: dog cemetery..

Thats pretty cool there. We have our own family dog cemetery on the family farm complete with head stones with our dogs names. Small cement stones made by a lady friend of ours. We love our dogs also. Five of them buried there.

Re: Crossbow vs Rifle

Rifle, shotgun, pistol, muzzle loader, long bow, recurve bow, compound bow, crossbow, spear........rock. The most important thing is the deep felt desire and love for the hunt. The passion that the majority of society does not and cannot understand. That longing for solitude and oneness with GOD's c...

It doesn't matter which one you get now...just flip a coin. Which ever one you pick will be great and then you will want another one shortly thereafter. :D

Re: Stopping Crossbow arrows

I use the Reinhart 18-1 and like it alot. Holds up really good and stops the arrows great. A little hard pulling them out until it gets "broken" in a little.........good crossbow target. Haven't used broadheads on it yet though.

I like the aluminum, but that is a really good point Boo. Many polymer framed handguns followed the Glock didn't they.
If the riser is not "plastic" ........aluminum still?
