Re: 2011 Trophy Room
Pennsylvania's deer season started wet, but just before dark last Friday I shot my first deer with my Ibex, a small racked eight pointer, decent body size though. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg403/scaled.php?server=403&filename=igotadeer.jpg&res=medium I thought I had hit it well and had ...

Making your own arrows
This topic has probably been done to death, but I'm going to ask anyway. :? What set up would you recommend for someone starting to build their own arrows? I'm leaning toward aluminum rather than carbon shafts and being able to easily repair damaged fletching is a desired feature. Thanks for any and...

After looking at the pics from Vixchix I'm starting to think robin hooding is what caused it,enormous wrote:Almost robin hooding caused that. Toss that arrow because the carbon is damaged.

Damage to nocks, not really new
I know there was a thread recently dealing with scratches appearing at the nock end of arrows, but I'm not sure which. Anyway, it prompted me to look closely at my arrows. Most do show light scratches, but very light, all except one. http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/7457/arrowdamagecloseupaeu.th.j...

Re: 50 Yard Group
...........Would not be afraid to make the shot if I was sure of the distance and had a good rest. Would not shoot at a monster at that range though. If I may ask, why does the deer being a monster or not make any difference to whether you'd try the shot? Does deserve ethical treatment too, just my...

Re: String Loop Failure
....when you guys wax your string, do you remove it to get wax on the end loops?........ That's a question I asked a while ago on a different thread, never did get an answer, but would really like to know what others do when they wax their loops, cheers, David P.S.. and is it just me, or does "...

Re: shame on you hunters
Yes, some of them are that stupid. :( One of my wife's friends was visiting us a while ago. I knew she was not a vegetarian and having some venison backstrap available, I offered to cook it for dinner. That's when I was told, "Oh no, I couldn't eat anything that's dead." It takes a lot to ...

Practice with mechanical broadheads
Other than buying and using a whole bunch of the small elastic "O-rings" of the type that come with most mechanical broadheads, what do you guys do about having the blades open in flight when you are just practicing? I think I read of someone using dental-floss to tie the blades shut. Rath...

Re: DIY broadhead target ?
For a broadhead target I use what's basically a box of "Kitty Litter". I'm told sand filled targets work too. You have to wiggle the arrow around and take the broadhead off to get the arrow out, which is bit of a pain sometimes. You can shoot it from either side. The original card board bo...

A priest is visiting an all girls catholic school. The girls are all lined up to meet him. "What's your name little girl?" he asks the first girl. "Mary" she replies. "Oh, that's a great name, and what are you going to be when you grow up Mary?" the priest continues, &q...
