Hammered in Jersey by EHD

Farmers in zone 17, NJ, are losing a bunch of deer. In less than a square mile adjacent farms and nurseries have counted over 100 dead deer. Probably more if you scour the wooded areas. All due to EHD and the majority of the state is reporting dead deer. There are also reports of EHD in NY, from Alb...

Re: ANYBODY ON THE RIGHT COAST OF US EXPERIENCING CWD?

I know it's off topic but important to the guys who hunt in NJ. Gathering some additional info, deer from Burlington County to Morris County are dying from EHD. That's from South Jersey to North Jersey and in between. Not a good sign since we are in bow season. Contractors who pick up the dead deer ...

Re: ANYBODY ON THE RIGHT COAST OF US EXPERIENCING CWD?

Not CWD in NJ although... I do know we have an outbreak of EHD/Blue tongue. Not sure how widespread the problem is, but we have found a bunch of decaying deer at the farm in zone 17. That farm is only a few miles south of Assunpink WMA. Zone 50 is also problematic. I'll see if F&W has any additi...

Re: NJ bear season

We've only been here about 400 years. Have a lot of land in the central part of NJ with more deer and turkey then we can handle. When did you say your leaving, soon? Wait till your land becomes my land, as in all the guys who hunted your land before you came along. Just something to think about, may...

Re: Cataracts

Boo, when I spoke to the surgeon he went through all the lens choices. There are enough to cover anyone's needs. Then I explained I have several nurseries, a lot of damaged plant material, and I shoot a lot of deer on depredation permits ( I give most all of the venison away). He said I have just wh...

Cataracts

Been a long time since I've posted on the forum. Still check the site and just see what's going on. For me, my eyesight has been sliding faster the last year or so. Surgery and new lens' are the solution. One eye is done, my shooting eye. Wow just wow. I can see clearly again with just one done. Lef...

Re: Installing new limbs on a matrix

Should I just eliminate the old rubber piece or crazy glue it to the limb strap?
It won't stay otherwise.

Installing new limbs on a matrix

I put the new limbs on my 380 only to have a gap between the limb strap and the top surface of the limb.
Used the new hardware that was sent. I used the old rubber cushion but it appears a thicker one is necessary or a shim for the limb pocket.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

New matrix bulldog 400?

Pretty much what it says. I'm looking at a NIB bulldog 400. Old stock and unopened, question is wasn't there a safety/trigger problem where the bow would discharge on its own? Was there an actual recall or did Excal fix the bows as needed? Hope someone can help with the answer. I know I can get the ...

Re: Wasp expandable broadheads

My experience with the Wasp Jak X is simple, I like "jak'n deer". I have three nurseries in central NJ, Middlesex and Monmouth counties, with one to two deer per acre. We are overrun with deer and slugs are no longer a viable tool with all the new houses. Having 24/7 depredation permits, s...

Re: Bugs!

I've been dealing with lyme for over ten years. See the doc at least 3-4 times a year.
News is that mosquitoes may carry lyme but they don't know if they can transmit the disease.
Not good.

Re: Tag Soup.

Anthony and anyone else with a NJ license, head down rt. 287 to Middlesex County Parks Dept on River Rd. Get yourself a park permit and you have tons of land to hunt with an ABUNDANCE, as in a sheet load, of deer to turn into stew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been hunting here on my farms for over 55 years, more...

Re: Comparison of M405 vs BD400 limb attachment

That's like apples and oranges for sure. Suppose the real question is
how are the speeds with each and does the BD come close to its rated speed or even the 405 that you have?.
