I am also honored to have purchased a knife from him. It's a beautiful Damascus blade. Should have bought a second one.

Re: Broadheads for moose
So just a quick update
Shot my first moose a young spike bull on Sunday morning at 9 03 am. Shot was 26 yards using a boltcutter. Moose ran about 50 yards and eneded up 25 feet from the logging road we were parked on. Boltcutter did a great job with a complete pass thru from my Vortex.

Re: Broadheads for moose
I use slick tricks with good luck but if your on the ground lots of times you shoot high and the exit hole is the same as the entrance . The whole chest has to fill before the blood will come out in a lot of cases . I have talked with many different hunters about archery moose hunting. The common s...

Re: Broadheads for moose
My group has 30 archery bulls to date. 1st item is check the regs but there is NO calf season during archery season that I'm aware of in Ontario. You can hunt with bow in late gun season when calf season is open. We will not allow anyone to use expandables on our moose hunt. That should give you a ...

Two years ago we shot a young bull on the first morning. The broadhead was a Rage crossbow two blade mechanical. ...

Re: Vane Adhesion-Glue vs Tape
Have been using the tape on feather fletches for years now, and it works great! Like those before me have said, it is not for plastic vanes.

Re: Bolt cutters
While I am no expert and every deer is different, it's hard to say what exactly happened. What I can tell you is that a deflection may be caused by anything. From my experience ( my opinion only ) shooting from stands, or anytime you are not 100% square to the deer and get into the shoulder area thi...

Re: Fletching jig
Thanks all. Look like I'll be buying a blitz. When I was building arrows for the vertical I did one vane at a time and it worked well for me, even with the sub par jig I had. I'm hoping to do so physio on my shoulder ( rotator cuff ) to allow me to shoot the verticals again, haven't shot one in a six...

2014 Season hasn't begun but already off to a bad start
Went out to check the property I hunt and put up the camera again as I had a problem with it and hasn't been out for a month. Went to the tree to check my new hang on stand to find it GONE! All gone stand, chain and lock. I hunt a short distance from the property line and found brand new NO HUNTING ...

Re: My hunting land is a garbage dump for some rude slobs!
It's sad to see this happen, I pick up garbage along the river weekly. These low life sob's troll the back roads for hours and waste a whole tank of gas so they don't have to pay 5 bucks at the dump. It must give them a great feeling of victory. As my friend says " ya just can't fix stupid"...
