Ontario Out of Doors monthly
The Backwoodsman monthly
Sometimes Fur Fish Game
And once in awhile Wooden Boat
I skim a lot of the other outdoor mags at Walmart or Chapters. They usually are not worth buying for the odd good article in them.

Re: Sad story
I believe non natives hunting on reserves have to follow provincial hunting laws. So if bow season wasn't open, Peter Kosid was hunting illegally. BFD. The shooter could have just as easily shot a kid. Fortunately for Stan Jonathan pretty much every thing he did that day was legal. They sure have so...

Re: Sad story
What does it matter what the victim was doing. The shooter, I won't use the term hunter, in this case was shooting from a road lined with houses onto property he didn't have permission to hunt on. Could have just as easily been the land owner or a person out for a walk that was killed.

Re: MNR Meeting
The point I think we might be missing is this. The ledger system was in place before C-68. That and the LAW that supported it are gone. The new requirement for records keeping is being pushed on the dealers by the CFO of Ontario. He is a Supt with the OPP. Nobody else the least bit uncomfortable wit...

Re: MNR Meeting
If I remember correctly, the provision for the ledger system was superseded by Bill C-68 and the registry. When the registry was abolished the government did not reinstated that provision. There is not I believe any "legal" requirement for a seller of firearms to record who he sells what t...

Re: MNR Meeting
This was the way it was prior to C-68. The dealer kept a record of who bought what. Not sure what good it was then. And not sure what good having dusty ledgers of who bought what will be now? Unless? When the gun registry was brought in, our dear friends in Quebec added their own twist. When you bou...

Ontario police keeping track of gun sales 03/05/2012 8:30:00 AM by Nevil Hunt The Ontario Provincial Police say a system that tracks gun sales is perfectly legal, even if the federal government has done away with the long-gun registry. Ontario's provincial police force is keeping tabs on sales by gu...

Re: Just got off phone with MNR.
And for the record I was wrong/out of date when I posted this, OldSkool » Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:43 pm Crossbows are totally legal for use during Ontario's bowfishing season. The definition of bow and arrow in the regulations includes "all long bows and crossbows" I was reading the 2010 regs a...

Re: Just got off phone with MNR.
This is the response I received from an e-mail I sent to the MNR website. My question was, Please advise as to whether or not crossbows are legal for use for the purpose of bowfishing. MNR response Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. As per page 11 of the 2012 Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary: &qu...
