Re: How do you like your Exomax?

I had the Exomax for several years and it would punch right through a deer. In fact, I shot through the front shoulder blade of one so it's plenty powerful. I just sold mine to a buddy and I'm downsizing on my next one. I treestand hunt in Alabama mostly and it's pretty thick so I'm getting either t...

Thanks awshucks. It sure does seem to lighten up the cross bow by taking all that scope/mount stuff off. And if I can consistently hit with the sight that came on it from the factory, then I'll try that for a while and see how I like it. Also this time when I go down from the Exomax, I'm taking the ...

stock

Crazy Horse, I have been thinking of doing the exact same thing....making my own wooden thumbhole stock. How do you intend to do this? Use one of those gun stock duplicating machines or do it the old fashioned method of file and check and file and check fit? Harry

Sight question

Thanks Archiarcher, that's a good idea. Wish I had thought of it. I primarily tree stand hunt in south Alabama and I'm always amidst bushes and limbs and vines and such. Harry

Sight question

Smokepolehall, thx for the response. I see that you're showing "carved tips" on your Vixen. What exactly does "carved tips" mean? Thanks. Harry

Sight question

Thanks Wabi. I may try that. I just really wanted to get away from the Exomax and all the weight. Plus I really didn't need that much power. Nor did I like the extra noise.

Sight question

I have had an Exomax with Right Stuff package for about 3 years, super bow, always accurate and plenty strong. But I just sold mine to a buddy so I could re-outfit myself with a thumbhole stock version (probably the Vortex this time with a little less speed and weight and length). On my last one I h...

Thanks Groundpounder. I've never tried to build a stock myself but I wonder how difficult that would be?

Groundpounder's stock

Groundpounder, where did you get that stock? I have the Exomax and would like to put a thumbhole wooden stock on it but don't want all the laminated greenish stuff I've seen. Just want dark wood that more resembles a gun stock. I really like yours. Harry
