Re: October Lull???

Lots of good info here but here are my thoughts. In early season you see lots of deer at food plots in fields and everywhere else you hunt. I call these resident deer where does raise their young in a general area doing the same thing everyday. Once the season opens and the deer begin to notice that...

Re: Help. Matrix 405

Cock the bow and slide the arrow down the rail and see if its making contact somewhere.
Sometimes the thin black spacer between the limb and rail sticks out into the track causing the fletching to make contact.

Re: Ground Blind Usage?

The dog house is fine for crossbow shooting but too small for compound bows.

if you set it up in advance in one spot the deer get used to it but if you move it around it's best if you conceal the blind or it will spook them.

Re: Electronic Coyote Call

Yes I bought one back in February. Called in a few coyotes with it. Lots of sounds and you can add your own. Loud and no distortion even at high volume. Battery life is good too. The remote distance is not that great unless the caller is elevated a bit. I mounted mine on a camera tripod to keep it o...

Re: Discouraged Lost two turkey

Are you aiming for the vitals?
A turkey has a small kill zone.

It could be that you are hitting them to far forward in the breast.

There are some good turkey shot placement videos on the internet.

Re: Is this acceptable?

Try turning the scope rings around.
I know you said you switched from front to back but you should also spin them.
So... if you are having trouble with the lock screw on the right side of the bow, spin the rings so the lock screw is on the left of the bow.

Re: Boltcutter broadheads

If you have the firebolts that came with the light stuff package then 100 grain slick tricks might be too light for your bow.

The 150 grain bolt cutters is what excalibur recommends for the firebolts. Lots of guys use them with great results.

Re: GT laser II bolts

Hi Don,
both these guys are in the USA.
Do you know if anyone has them locally?
Even if I can find raw shafts, I can build them myself.

GT laser II bolts

I use gt laser II's with front brass inserts and aluminum rear with 100 grain heads.
Is there another arrow I can use instead of the gt's that are basically the same?

Seems like the gt's are getting harder to find in Ontario.

shadow zone scope

Does the shadow zone have an on off switch for the illuminated reticle?

Was wondering if you can just use the scope with the non illuminated recticle and then turn it on in low light conditions.

Re: inaccurate vortex!

How far away is that front scope ring from the elevation turret?

Looks like it's pretty close or touching?
Rings should be about 1/8" away from the turret.

Don't think this is the issue with your accuracy but just a guideline when setting up a scope.

Re: Matrix

Why not make a Matrix with the shorter dimensions in a 200 lb model (Matrix 200)?

Re: sighting question....

This is what I do once the scope is installed and you are happy with the crosshairs. Sight in at 20 yards with the main crosshair. Make left/right, up/down adjustments until you get a bullseye. Move back to 40 yards and use the 40 yard chevron. Adjust speed ring until the arrow hits level with the b...
