Re: First deer of 2012

Congrats as well. Been pretty quiet over here in watauga county but lots of great sign near my stands. The weather has finally started to cooperate but just not seeing any deer. Lots of squirrels and turkeys and a couple small bear pics on my cameras. The season is still young though..........

Re: Boltcutter Broadheads

I'd check out the scope mount to the crossbow to see if the bolts are tight. Plus then check the scope rings screws as well since they may have loosened up. Plus check the bolts that hold the limbs to the forearm and see if they are tight as well. Sounds like a loose scope mount to me and also make ...

Re: Muzzleloader Scope Help

I've had a Simmons Aetec 2.8-10-44mm on my T/C Omega for quite a few years and still doing great with it. Great light gathering and not super hi zoom factor but works awesome. Been loaded with 150 grain pyrodex and now the past two year been using 100-120 grain of blackhorn. I like the 44 mm objecti...

Re: Boltcutters for Turkeys??

Thanks for the help on this one since I've been using shotguns for quite a while but wanted to give the crossbow a chance since I've shot them with a vertical bow and muzzy's but didn't want to switch to mechanicals since I've had great success with deer and the boltcutters.... Thanks again.

Boltcutters for Turkeys??

Just wanted to find out if anyone has been using the boltcutters for spring turkey hunting. Decided to put up the shotgun bbl this year and try the crossbow this year. Been using MX-4s for years with the vertical bow back in NH, NY, and VT but now that I've converted I was hoping someone else has us...

Re: Lumi noks

I've installed the luminoks from Bass Pro on the firebolts with boltcutter heads. They work really great and I had no issues installing them. The trick was to heat the original nock and pull it out and all the glue came out with them. I used the arrow puller from excal since they're a 1/4-20 and mak...

Re: range finders - any advice?

I personally used to have the bushnell yardage pro but I upgraded to the Leupold RX750 since I like the added benefit of the angle compensation. Plus I also muzzleload and rifle hunt both in NC and NY so I have some extra yardage compared to my Hoyt and Exomax. If you just want something archery spe...

Re: Wildlife and wind turbines

My Uncle lives in Western NY just outside of Attica NY and there are 3 large wind farms in the area. When I visited the area we counted over 20 deer underneath quite a few of these behemoths and they didn't seem bothered in the least. I've also ridden my Harley in the past near these behemoths and t...

2011 Exomax sighted in AWESOME Product

Finally got some dry weather without snow here in NC and got the new exomax sighted in. I can't believe how easy it was and my groups with the stock arrows at 50 yards are AWESOME. The new S5 suppressors work great and just a bit louder than my Hoyt. Can't wait for turkey opener. Now I just need to ...

Anyone fletching 2" blazer vanes for their bolts

I'm new to the excalibur community since recently purchasing a 2011 Exomax from American Archery Supply in GA. I've been fletching blazer vanes for my Hoyt Maxxis and haven't seen any built arrows using the blazer vanes. I read on the excalibur sight about gluing a nock to a bolt to my current jig b...
