Re: 2219 flat nocks....

I've been using aluminum inserts as nocks for all of my XX75 2117 and 2216 builds. They work great and accuracy is excellent with both with my Excalibur Ibex. A 20" XX75 with aluminum inserts on both ends, 2" Blazer vanes and a 125 grain point weighs 437 grains. I get 285 FPS out of the Ib...

Re: Help mounting a scope

Before I got my gun vise I used a cardboard box and cut a "V" on either end of the box which forms a cradle for the fore end and butt stock. You can cut the Vs to custom fit each end. I mounted several scopes using it and it worked good.

Re: shadow zone scope

Great scope and the illumination is just right. I really like mine. Be sure to buy extra batteries because you WILL forget and leave it on but you can still use it without the illumination.

Bought one a couple years ago to use in the blind and when practicing in the back yard. Good addition to my hunting stuff.

Re: check your arrows!

I've been shooting some type of aluminum arrows for 35 years, most recently out of my Excalibur. When researching crossbows a few years ago I decided that I wasn't going to use carbon. Having a good many 2117 and 2216 aluminum arrows already it seemed to make sense to cut those down and use them in ...

Re: alum arrows

I have never had any problems with aluminum. They are normally straighter, shoot great, easy to assemble/re-fletch/tune, straighten it if I should happen to bend one (I have a straightener), don't have to worry about carbon slivers and the list goes on.

Re: Aluminum ... need insight

JT- I've been shooting a Xbow for over a year now and have always shot XX75s, never shot a carbon arrow. I guess the reason was because I had a lot of them that were left over from my vertical bow days, just cut them down, fletched and used them. I know carbon arrows are the rage right now but the g...

Re: To Wrap or Not To Wrap??? That is the question..

I tried wraps for awhile but took them off all of my arrows. I hated the plastic residue left on the rail after a couple shots. The plastic wrap smears all the way out the rail and is a pain to get off.

Re: 4 finger rope cocking aid ?

If you have a kite shop near by check with them. I'm not talking about Walmart kiddie kites either. I have a few of the big stunt kites, the kind that will drag you across the beach.I bought some nice padded handles to make the heavy pulling of the kites bearable. They kinda look like handles that a...

Re: Squirrel hunting

Lots of squirrels around here too but our season don't come in until mid October. All of the squirrels I've seen up close have a bad case of wobbles.
