i used hevy shot for years and then it got hard to find around here so i started using plane jane 2 and 3/4 number sixes last year.killed two last year and two this year without a problem.i use a remington turkey choke.give it a try you might like them also. i have bought my last high dollar turkey ...

i shot two turkeys last fall with boltcutters and i lost one.but it sailed off of the ridge and i could not see where it sailed to the first one i broke a wing and it could not get off of the ground.i was trying for a spine on the second bird but was off to the right a little bit.they will work fine...

i also trap and have been caught a few times the worst buy far was a 330 conibear.i was setting for beaver and had it resting on a log and my gerber tool was on the log behind it you guessed it i reached trough the trap! i don't know how long i forgot to breath! :lol:i was lucky only one spring went...

where i live in ky there are elk all over and i see them all the time.but have never hunted them.but i would use a fire bolt and boltcutter broadhead with out a worry.

i like the boltcutters and thats what i shoot but i would like a little wider cut on turkeys i live in the mountains and if you don't break a wing or spine they will sail off a ridge and be lost.(lesson learned).i broke the wing on the first bird and it still went about 150 yards on a strip mine and...

i use a 22-250 foxpro call and full camo hunt early and late but anytime that you can go is a good time. :D
