Sorry that its taken so long, but here is a picture of the elk I bagged in September! He was no match for my Excalibur. I shot him at 38 yards, and the arrow went right through him! It was a double lung shot. I never did find my arrow :(. He still managed to go over 200 yards! It was an awesome expe...

I've learned at 40-50 yards you need some kind of backstop, because if you miss the target with the speed these arrows are traveling, you can kiss them good-bye. I've got 2 arrows on the other side of the creek next to my house in some of the thickest stuff God has ever created...I'll never see them...

Went ahead and booked my Elk hunt today with Lost Mountain outfitters, I've heard a lot of good things about them. I talked with Hurley for 1/2 hour today, and now i'm really pumped...come on September!!!

Welcome, there are some really great people on this forum. I researched the heck out of crossbows before I bought my Equinox, and I know that I made the right decision! You can drive tacks at 30 yards with a little practice!

I can't believe it, checked the other morning and seen that I had been drawn! I'm the only person in my county!
I'll be taking my Equinox to hunt, crossbows are not allowed the first two weeks, but I have a medical excemption, so I'm good to go.
Looks like I better get practicing!!!

I got my excalibur 2 weeks ago, and I can't say enough good things about it.
Up until I got my excalibur, I had only shot a crossbow ONCE, now I try and shoot it every day!

How's that for bad timing? My new Equinox got here in two days, and I'm too sick to even put it together! I better get to feeling by tomorrow morning, because I'm putting it together and shooting it, if I have to do it from the toilet! I'll let you know how it goes...the crossbow, not the sickness :)
