Axiom brace hieght and string break in
Is there a specific brace hieght for the Axiom? It does not have any markings on the rail. Also, how many shots till you woulf feel the dacron excel string is "broken in"? The reason i am asking these things is i plan to carry a spare string with me to the stand (I have heard a few stories...

Re: show us your hunting kinfe
None of my knifes are worth taking a picture of, i lose them constantly (typically to my brother) so no use in spending good money on one.
Anyways I cheat and use golf ball skinning for the majority of it.

Re: Making a stringing aid
Sad part is I have had my excal for 3 days and after seeing Agings stocks I am eyeballing a piece of birdseye maple I have had in my shop for a while now. Of course i still have 7 weeks and 2 days to kill before deer season opens. I am just glad NC has relaxed on crossbows by one opening the archery...

Making a stringing aid
I know that some people have made stringing aids out of 550 Paracord by putting a serving on it. could one possibly use shrink tubing as a serving on the paracord?
What can i say i am a cheapskate with plenty of paracord and shrink tubing laying around.

Newbie question
OK so i have my new Axiom SMF and was wondering, how hard should the string ride the rail?
If I lift the string and slip a piece of paper under it i have to apply a good bit of force to slide it out.
Any advice would be great.

Re: First crossbow set-up and sighting
yes it came with the rope cocker.
I think the inconsistency to this point is not having a decent rest of any kind. Can't wait till i get home tomorrow and try it on the trigger stick bipod.

Re: First crossbow set-up and sighting
Well my package from cabela's got to the office today, took lunch and assembled. At this point I watched the clock tick until 4 when i could head to gander mountain and get in the archery lane. once i got there put two bolts down range at 20 yards and was hitting about 6 high and 2 left. made adjust...

Re: First crossbow set-up and sighting
According to cabelas and the description here it does come with a rope cocker. As to the scope if it does not come with a speed adjustment then i am guessing i will need to stick with roughly 416 grain total arrow weight as it sounds like that is the weight of the arrows that come with it. I think a...

First crossbow set-up and sighting
OK so i have an Axiom SMF package arriving this week (first xbow hence the username) and wanted to know. When i go to start sighting in is there a trick to at least get on target to begin with (i.e. like boresighting a rifle) so i am not sending the arrows zipping past the target? Also exactly which...
