Re: Homemade #32 Meat Grinder
We grind all of our meat at one time, since it's easiest on the set up and clean up. We de-bone and trim everything and then place it in a 1 gallon bag for the freezer. We used to try to put it in a plastic tub in the freezer, but got partially hard frozen and soft meat. So, let it hard freeze over ...

Re: Cocking your crossbow
My ladder stand platform is 24 x 30. I have tried , just to see if it can be done. I can do it. :D I always cock mine when I'm in the stand, but only after my fall protection harness is secured to the tree. My lock on stands are all about this size. I push up the seat first. I've got long arms and ...

Re: One... How much accuracy should I expect?
I just went through this, but with some good advice (thanks Bill T), I've got a nice tight grouping at 40 yards :D . I'm shooting 2219's. I cut off the 4" fletchings, and now use the "Twisters" that shrink to fit in hot water. Eventually I'll re-fletch all the arrows with 2" heli...

Re: Picking out a broadhead...
First ....Do you use their "Crossbow Broahdead" or just the regular 2 blade? The "Crossbow" is 1.75" cutting diameter, whereas the the regular 2 blade is 2". I kind of like the idea of the 2" cutting diameter, even though it comes in only 100 grain. The crossbow v...

Best Front of Center
What is the best front of center for arrow flight and accurracy?
How is FOC measured? If I have a 20" arrow and the center of gravity is at 12", then is that a 10% FOC or 20% FOC?
Can you ever have too much FOC?

Re: Expandable broadhead accuracy
If you are consistent at that spot, then adjust your sights for the new POI. Use helical or quick spin fletching for best results.Jimmer G wrote:.....getting shots approximately I inch to 1 1/2 inches from the bullseye.......

Re: Broadhead problems
In a word, Yes. You can fletch your own or do the shrink fletch version..... ....... Hopefully that get me close to hitting a dot at 40 yards. Bill T thanks for the great advice. Today was the first day that I was able to get out and shoot. I just placed two arrows within 1" at 40 yards and co...

Re: Broadhead problems
In a word, Yes. You can fletch your own or do the shrink fletch version..... I was going to buy the helical jig at Bass Pro, but they didn't have one. So, I bought the 3" Quick Spins that you dip in hot water. They worked pretty well. The 125 grain practice heads flew pretty well at 30 yards. ...

Re: Broadhead problems
.....Went to carbon with 2" quik spin and got really good groups with a lot of different broadheads. Keep trying and good luck. I contacted Arizona EZ Fletch. They recommended using the 2" helical for the best flight. The 5" vanes with a 1 degree offset are shooting better, but not g...

Re: Broadhead problems
Well, I changed the string this weekend, added a couple twists to increase the brace height slightly. It's shooting better, but I'm still trying to dial it in. Still have 2219's but I'm using 5" fletching now. The fletchings didn't stay on too well. So, I'll need to re-fletch the arrows again. ...

Flemish String vs. Standard
I need to replace my string. The serving has worn out after less than a 100 shots. Yes, I did wax it regularly. I don't know what happened, but it broke and is unraveling. The flemish string calls for "Mag Tips", but how do you know if you have "Mag Tips" or not? I'm pretty sure ...

Re: Broadhead problems
Whats the fletching angle ? Straight 4degree offset or helical ? Whats the vane length ? These also play a big part in the accuracy with fixed bladed BH's.I have some 100 gr Rage 2 bladed BH's a friend sent me to try out this Fall. I have been looking at the huge dia. of these things, meaning you h...

Re: Broadhead problems
I looked into these. Have you had any issues with the diameter being too small?MarkMarine wrote:Personally, I use GT Laser II.
I think the OD for these are .337" or 21.57/64th. Excalibur recommends 22/64th OD as the minimum. I can't imagine that small of a difference making an impact, but????
