Re: Equinox Accuracy
Try a 150 grain field point and shoot from a solid rest with someone watching YOU while you shoot. The slightest flinch makes worlds of difference. That bow will drive nails at 20 yds. 100 grains on a Firebolt is just over the minimum weight. The Equinox will handle a heavier and sometimes more accu...

Re: Fighting over $10 per bag corn
By law in Florida we must maintain our feeding stations year round in order to hunt over them. 50 lbs a week adds up quick...I try not to think about it...plus I keep a bean plot at $1.50 a pound X 300 lbs and gas @ $25 a trip...The deer eat better than I do.

Re: Best F.O.C. for hunting
When shooting carbon bolts you need more FOC weight to compensate for the run out. Aluminum shafts are superior in straightness compared to carbon shafts and require less FOC. However, having a little more weight up front also compensates for other variables like wind, a tree branch or tall weed, or...

Get so some Gold Tip Laser II brass inserts and some Goat Tuff GT Impact glue. Install the inserts in your FIrebolts and let the big dog eat.

Re: Letting it Down, with the Rope Cocker
Had the same problem last year. I was using an Excalibur FFF string and the serving separated where the cocker hooks on. Ordered 2 more FFF strings and while breaking them in one of the new ones started to do the same thing even with plenty of twist in the string. I reserved both of them and didn't ...

Re: pulling my hair out... mid to down range accuracy
Try putting a stip of black electrical tape in a verticle line on your target. Shooting from a comfortable & stable rest line the tape up with your verticle reticle in the scope and see how they group. A slight cant of the bow will make a big difference at 30 yards. Also, number your bolts and a...

Re: There is no honor among thieves
I get what you're saying Mark and I enjoy your poetic thoughts. Some could fall on a bed of nails and still "miss the point" but you can't prevent that. I recently lost a camera and a feeder to some low life POS that get's his high from stealing other peoples gear. Hunting is SO MUCH more ...

If you have the chance you should check out the Nikon Bolt XR. So much clearer than any other X-bow scope I've seen.

Nice job! Congrats! You gotta love those Spitfires. I know the sound you're talking about as the bolt passes through....it's the sound of success. Thanks for sharing with us. Very nice buck!

Re: Couldn't find my 8 pointer
Keep your chin up Bill....most of us have been there too. If you had found that buck we'd all be saying "congratulations on a nice shot". The first deer I shot with a bow was at almost 50 yards. The 100 grain Thunderhead went through the shoulder and the heart. That 6 point made 2 jumps an...

Re: To catch a thief.
Boy ol boy I'm rubbing my hands on this one. I wish I were there. There is nothing I like better than to grab a bum and shake him out. I'd sit in the woods for a week 24/7 to get this guy. Hope you wack him. X2!!! Talk about a good hunt...waiting and catching a thief in action...that's what I call ...
