Re: scopes/red dots - are they necessary?
If I was hog hunting up close in the Florida swamps I might use open sights. But hog hunting California I would opt for a good scope.

Re: Luminok For Bolts
They are sweet. I bought the Lumen arrow bolts from Lumenox with them on it.
Sent one through a doe two days ago, looked like a lazer beam hitting the deer.
You will love them

Re: new flemish string !
I agree. Dont change it.
saying that though i changed mine and even with a new string that is in streach mode, and a different brace height than i sighted in at. It shoots exactly the same. My exomax is my first crossbow and seems to me they are very forgiving on changes.

Interesting thing is I was using a 125 grain Rage and to my surprise (no pass through) with that poundage and a two blade Rage i thought ...

Re: To trophy or not to trophy
Hunting to me is foremost for fun and enjoyment of the outdoors. Saying that. I love venison and my family can eat 3 deer a year. So unless someone I know wants venison I limit myself to 3. I've killed a few p&y deer with a bow and like you its not that big of a deal to me. I think a trophy is a...
