Re: Anybody else name their crossbow?
I call mine several names, depending on whether I've missed a shot or forgot to load a bolt, etc. Don't think I'll give any examples here though....  In this case mine would be named "DammitKeith" I like the sound of that. Think I'll call mine DammitKeith as well

Re: New trigger
The only screws you re-use are the 2 that fasten the stock to the underside of the rail. I believe all the new ones have loc-tite on them. Only re-use the 2 for the stock as some of the others are a different size than the original. Should be an easy swap on a new bow like yours. On my 97 Exocet I h...

Re: Scope Recommendation for HHA Optimizer
I'm looking to buy the hha optimizer with the hawke scope package, I'm trying to find where I can buy it around here, ( Toronto) Not sure what's available in your area (Bass Pro in Vaughn?), but it's available on Amazon.ca with or without the scope option. You'd probably have it within 2 days as th...

Scope Recommendation for HHA Optimizer
Just ordered a HHA Optimizer for the old Exocet. Looking for advise on a scope. I don't know much about scopes, but I do know that I want a variable power scope (2X6 or 3X9 maybe?) a clean uncluttered reticle, rugged, and decent light transmission. I'm trying to keep the budget around $200 or $300 a...

Re: DrStirrup dBKiller Silencers location question
Thanks guys. I'll go with 6 inches on mine since the limbs are longer ones.

DrStirrup dBKiller Silencers location question
Hi guys,
I just got finished installing my stirrup & dBKiller silencers on my bow. Trying to determine where they should be placed along the limb. The instructions were a little confusing to me.
I have an Exocet 165 with Mag tip limbs installed. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: what happened to the reasonable price on Excal crossbows
Well the positive side of it is that many of those purchasing the new line-up will probably need to sell their old bows to afford it. This means that there will be a number of nearly new bows that will show up on the trading post shortly. Rather than replace my 1997 Exocet 165 I've upgraded various ...

Freezing temps and 6 inches of snow next Tuesday, might be our last hurrah! No need to be "cranking on a Marley" here!

Re: Advice on Selling Exomax
Kijiji looks for certain words like: rifle, crossbow, gun, etc. If you search Kijiji for Excalibur under sporting goods you'll find lots of adds for bows that have been up for quite a while. Just watch what words they've used (and avoided) and repost.

Re: Little advice please
Flat nocks are required to ensure correct contact with the string & reliable arrow flight. The flat threaded insert used as the nock also allows for easier arrow removal by way of an arrow puller.

Re: Apex accessories.
Page 10 of the 32 page manual (click on Apex, on the left side & download it) says that you need a minimum weight of 350 grains, arrow and head combined.

I'd call that negative brace height. Maybe someone from Barnett paid them to set it up like that
