Re: My first Euro mount
Forgot about the teeth. Save them and glue them back with Elmer's glue after the skull is done.

Re: My first Euro mount
Looks good Jeff. I like it the way it is too. Looks more natural than if it's too white. Was it very difficult to do? I have a bear skull I've been thinking of doing. For bear I flesh out the skull. Get it as clean as possible. If you boil it with the flesh on it will stain. I use a turkey fryer an...

Re: Emergency planning!
This is a great thread and has really opened my eyes. I hunt 99.9% of the time on public land. I don't always let people know where I'll be at. I've never gotten lost, but I could very easily get hurt and need help. I may be too over confident and may one day get turned around myself. I'm going to c...

Re: OT I need some advice.
A buddy of mine asked me if I wanted to hunt on his lease with him in VA. So I put my Valmet in the case and started getting my gear ready after Thanksgiving diner. The wife, looking a little disappointed asked why I was not hunting with my new rifle she had got me? I told her it was a little too po...

Re: do you believe this
I have had this happen more than once. I've yet to shoot a deer that was worth getting shot over. I have had guys shoot a bear out of a tree that my dogs had treed. They didn't even have a dog in the hunt. One guy in the area was bad about it. Karma did her thing on him, wrecked his truck one winter...

Re: A week in the woods with rifles...
Thanks for sharing. It brought back a lot of memories from my past. I was nine the first year I got to go to deer camp, twelve when I got to go to bear camp the first time. It was a whole new world and I'll never forget those times I spent, roughing it in the wild with family and friends.

Re: Here, kitty kitty!
Does anyone besides Big58 carry a back-up? I know the DNR here frowns on it as too often such pistols is concealed beneath hunting coat, vest, etc. My pistol is nicknamed "American Express". As far as the mountain lions go, I've never seen one but have heard from guys that are not known t...

Had some time today to shoot. Pretty sure I'm done with load development. This thing kicks a bit, but I am very impressed with how well it shoots. Group was three rounds @ 100 yards.
