Question for bi-pod users
I've been researching bi-pods and like the features of the Harris swiveling models. Is it really as simple as connecting it up to the swivel stud on an Excalibur? I'm guessing that the riser bolts and conical washers would make for an irregular surface that would complicate mounting the bi-pod which...

TriggerTech phenomenon?
I installed a TriggerTech trigger in my Exocet a couple of days ago and have put about 70 shots on it thus far. It shoots great, but I've had 5 occurrences (4 of them just this evening) where the string claw rebounds after the shot into the cocked position such that the trigger needs to be pulled a ...

Stringing Aid Failure: Operator Error
When replacing a flemish string this evening, I got sloppy seating the loop in the groove on the mag tip. After letting off the pressure of the stringing aid, the loop tried squeezing past the plastic ends as it slid down the limb and the laws of physics were too much. http://i1053.photobucket.com/a...

Adjustable Cheek Rest
I originally purchased my Exocet with an Excalibur cheek piece and although it is a wonderful little cheek rest, my line of sight was a good inch low of the center of the scope when I was settled into a comfortable cheek weld. The same was true of the foam pipe insulation trick discussed elsewhere o...

Re: Endless loop serving question
http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s471/mcgyvermark/IMGP0810.jpg Considering how much stretch there is between a new and broken in string, loop serving separation seems inevitable. I have only ever waxed the main serving with the Excalibur serving wax. Would the use of a good string wax on the loo...

Re: Endless loop serving question
If it's just a gap and not contacting the mag tip it's ok. Otherwise I would replace the string, it's not worth the effort. Does this mean that the main string strands are not touching the tip? If so I have a string that needs to be retired. Any harm in going till the strands start to show some wea...

Re: Judo points leave lasting impressions
Zwickys will go through and drag all kinds of interesting guts out the other side. Cup end blunts kill with a shock wave followed by the blunt itself. Hank I thought that the spring arms could make a real mess of things with anything but a head shot. How well do the Saunder's points stop an arrow i...

Judo points leave lasting impressions
I tried out a Zwickey Judo point this evening. Two water bottles were eviscerated and the sod was aerated and the arrow was stopped as advertized. I was quite impressed. The carbon shaft was also quite impressed where the spring arms were slapped back on impact thus scoring both the aluminum insert ...

Re: Self enrolled DFC member
Just asking from personal experience, but did your string fly ten yards forward and five left? My string always lands in the same spot.  Hank I thought we were supposed to have tight groups for the arrows not the string  In my case the string was draped nicely over the deck but unh...

How many licks does it take to get the center of a tootsie pop? I don't know... but apparently it takes me about 350 shots to dry fire   I was conscious of where my fingers were, conscious of which chevron to use for the distance, but not conscious of the empty flight deck. Thankfully I...

Nice work. With your approach you can hang to crossbow with the quiver attached; that is one regret I have with the one I made.

Re: Ideas On How To Display / Store Xbow’s
"based upon what I remembered seeing on the Excalibur instructional DVD" Thanks & what video DVD is this? Please post a link? :D OK now you got me. I'm not sure where I thought I had seen this approach to hanging a crossbow. In Excalibur's DVD catalog there is a section describing the...

Re: Ideas On How To Display / Store Xbow’s
This is what I threw together quickly based upon what I remembered seeing on the Excalibur instructional DVD. http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s471/mcgyvermark/rack.jpg This is very simple to put together if you have access to a table saw and at least a hand drill. Certainly this could be expande...

Stock wall thickness
For those who have taken the stock off, how thick is the material in the area below the safety? There is a relatively sharp corner that makes the grip a bit uncomfortable. When hunting with gloves there should be no issue but I notice after about a 45 minutes of target practice the trigger hand star...
